The Reserve at Fairhope sits at the foot of the Appalachian Mountains and looks out over the Coosa River, so people living there can enjoy mountain views, water, and wide-open spaces with local farms nearby, and this three-story community has different living options for seniors, offering independent living, assisted living, memory care, and nursing home care, with the chance to move between these as care needs change, and folks here find apartments and cottage homes with a range of floor plans, including studios, one-bedrooms, suites, and semi-private rooms, all made with safety and comfort in mind like ADA features, a sprinkler system, and handicap access. Residents can have their pets with them since the place is pet-friendly, and everyone gets to join in things like social outings, group fitness classes, health and wellness programs, arts and crafts, education sessions, and even special events-like free talks with law enforcement about scams-which helps people stay active and informed, plus the online calendar and newsletter make it easy for anyone to keep up with what's going on, submit new events, or print out a list of upcoming things to do. There's a game room, guest parking, high-speed Wi-Fi, a fitness center, and a full-service salon, along with a dining room serving chef-prepared meals and kitchens in some units for those who like to cook, and for those who need some extra help, there are personal care assistants around the clock, with services for walking, wheelchair help, bathing, toileting, and medication support, and medical services like nurses, wound care, podiatry, and occupational therapy are available, and daily living chores like laundry and housekeeping are taken care of, so people can spend more time on hobbies and less on chores. Seniors who want a maintenance-free lifestyle find amenities like cable TV, washers and dryers, transportation for appointments or shopping, and concierge services, all making life easier, while those with memory issues have safe, supervised spaces and programs just for them, with staff always nearby and memory-enhancing activities, so families can feel some peace of mind. Independent seniors can join in active, resort-style living with plenty of social and recreational activities, and everyone has access to thoughtful support as their health changes, plus everything comes with scenic views and modern-community features, with a focus on comfort and the choice for respite care if a short stay is needed. The Reserve at Fairhope's setting, combined with a range of care options and community services, gives people a chance to age in place while staying part of a welcoming and lively neighborhood close to Fairhope's shops, galleries, and restaurants.

Beautiful community; avoid memory care
I toured/moved my parent into The Reserve and I'm impressed - beautiful, warm, locally styled decor; friendly, service-oriented staff (Elizabeth and Gina were fantastic); outstanding tours and office personnel. The all-inclusive pricing covers utilities, tasty meals (24/7 bistro), many activities and amenities (pools, theater, library, transportation) but it is pricey and I wouldn't use my apartment just for meals. Overall residents are happy and staff go above and beyond, but I witnessed a horrible experience in the memory care unit and would not recommend that part.
