About Woodlands at Tannehill - CLOSED

Woodlands at Tannehill was a licensed Congregate Assisted Living Facility in McCalla, Alabama, with 52 beds, and it provided long-term care and support for seniors in a quiet, country setting with large porches where people could relax and even watch horses in the nearby pasture, and the staff, who were recognized for being helpful and kind, made the atmosphere feel welcoming to both residents and visitors, which was probably why the community won awards for Best Meals and Dining and Best Activities, offering residents chef-prepared meals and daily programs that kept everyone engaged physically, mentally, and socially. Inside, there were options for private suites or shared rooms with private bathrooms and kitchenettes, and rooms came furnished, air conditioned, and included internet, telephone, and TV, plus the building had a dining room, a library, a chapel for religious services, an activities room, an outdoor patio, a garden, and spaces for socializing, entertainment, and exercise, including onsite fitness areas, a movie room, and art and music spaces, so residents could stay as active as their health allowed with support from 24-hour staff and an emergency alert system. Seniors got help with daily living, like bathing, dressing, and managing medications, along with regular meal reminders, transportation to doctor's visits, incontinence and diabetic care, and housekeeping and laundry, which meant the community took care of regular chores so people could put their energy into enjoying programs and activities, making friends, or spending time with visiting family and pets, and these services were available across the assisted living, independent living, memory care, and respite care parts of the facility. There were also programs and therapies for residents with Alzheimer's and other forms of dementia, set up to reduce confusion and keep people safe from wandering, and the community offered care plans tailored to what each person needed, with the goal of helping folks maintain as much independence as possible. The community did not accept Medicare unless specifically certified, but provided home care services for seniors living nearby who needed extra help at home, which meant people could stay connected even if they didn't move in. With close parking, easy transportation, daily housekeeping, meals, and social events, Woodlands at Tannehill offered a maintenance-free living choice, provided comfort and security for people needing a bit more help as they aged, and left a reputation for having some of the most caring staff around, but the facility is now closed.
