    Great staff but trust broken

I appreciated the wonderful, caring staff - the administrator was hands-on, nurse Genie was amazing, and meals, daily activities and frequent parties were great. That said, a nearly $1,000/month rent increase and what I felt was a questionable/false pretense to relocate my mom seriously shook my trust in the company. We moved her to a beautiful, well-run facility with friendly, homey staff where her Alzheimer's care improved and I felt much more comfortable.

    About Magnolia House

Magnolia House offers both assisted living and independent living care for seniors right in Oneonta, Alabama, at 100 4th Ave W, and the place does a good job making sure people have choices about how much help they want, so you'll find help with things like bathing, grooming, getting dressed, and taking medicine along with some independence for those who want it, and the care team will work with families to make personal care plans for each resident, so everyone gets attention that fits their needs, which is important for people who want to keep some control over their daily life. The facility has Alzheimer's and memory care, diabetic and incontinence care, non-ambulatory care, and even respite options, and you'll notice that trained aides offer companionship and non-medical home care services when needed. Residents get three meals a day planned by a dietician, two snacks, and if someone wants, cable television for an extra fee, and for those who wish, staff encourages residents to decorate their rooms, which come both private and semi-private, with familiar things from home-sometimes those little touches matter most. Rooms come with safety and handicap features, and the cleaning and maintenance staff takes care of the place, which is both tastefully decorated and gives a pretty home-like feeling.

Social life and activities seem broad, especially with community areas inside and smaller numbers-about 40 people-so residents get personal attention but still have enough others around for plenty of activity, including outings or indoor events, games, and devotional programs both on and off-site. Magnolia House also takes mental health care seriously, with contracted psychiatric services available for residents, including regular psychiatric rounds either in person or by telepsychiatry, and this is part of a larger network with other nursing homes in Alabama. If you need help finding local resources or support for families, staff at Magnolia House will help connect people to what they need, whether someone's looking for continuing care, memory support, or help with day-to-day things.

Floor plans vary and let people pick what fits, and there's a focus on making daily life comfortable, with nutritious meals, common spaces for gathering, indoor and outdoor activity options like nearby walking tracks, golf courses, tennis courts, or the local gym, so seniors get a balance of freedom and support that many people find suits them as they age. The place is small enough to be personal, but still spacious, and the atmosphere focuses on dignity, strong community ties, and helping each person maintain quality of life, which holds a lot of value for families wanting peace of mind. Magnolia House is a retirement community for folks aged 55 and up, and people can schedule tours to visit, see the rooms, and learn more about which services and payment options fit. The facility has earned positive feedback, with an average rating of 4.8 out of 5, and while no place is perfect, many families find comfort in the safety features, simple routines, and the thoughtful support Magnolia House continues to offer seniors in their later years.
