    Great at first, then declined

I moved my mom into this memory-care community and overall I'm grateful - the staff were warm, attentive and felt like family, the facility is spotless and home-like with bright rooms, lovely courtyard and lots of music/activities, and staff kept families well informed. Meals and snacks were generally tasty and nicely presented, dining felt comfortable, and nurses were supportive. For a time the care was excellent and my mom was genuinely happy. That changed after staff turnover: we saw missed care, clothing mix-ups, cold breakfasts, and even a dehydration hospitalization and hygiene lapses, plus some frustrating admissions/records communication. My advice: it can be a wonderful choice, but verify staffing stability and oversight before placing a loved one.

About Grand Brook Memory Care of Rogers

Grand Brook Memory Care of Rogers sits among the trees near the Ozarks and offers a family-owned and operated memory care community that focuses on love, faith, and compassion that's been passed down through generations and, with over 25 years of experience, really knows how to support people with Alzheimer's disease or other forms of dementia. This community has two small houses built in a homelike, residential style; together, they serve up to 32 residents, so each person can get lots of attention and a safe, comfortable place to live. These houses face a big secured courtyard that's got walking paths, a soothing fountain, picnic spaces, and gardens, with a patio wrapping around for sitting outside.

Residents at Grand Brook Memory Care of Rogers pick either a private or companion suite, and both homes include open-concept living areas with plenty of room for group cooking, eating, and visiting. The clubhouse sits right between the two homes so everyone can use the Grandbucks Café for meals or family parties, enjoy the chapel, or spend time in a large living area. Family and friends can join in for meals or activities, and it's got a real family-style dining set-up where everyone eats together. The culinary team cooks nutritious, tasty meals in an open kitchen that's full of upgrades and made so residents can see and talk to the cooks, which makes meals feel special instead of just routine.

The staff here have training for dementia care, and they're chosen because they really care about helping seniors and see their jobs as a calling rather than just work, so residents get both expert care and kind attention every day. Staff keep a close eye on everyone, and they make sure the campus stays safe and secure. There's a Life Engagement Program that plans things like gardening, crafts, exercise classes, music, and other stimulating activities, so life can be fun and give seniors ways to stay active and connected, which sometimes means days with tournaments, hayrides, or even Shetland ponies visiting the living room.

They also offer short-term respite care, so families can take time to rest while their loved one stays in a safe, caring spot. The whole place is set up so anyone with memory loss feels comfortable and part of a real community, and they're always working with families, local groups, and organizations like the Alzheimer's Association. The dedicated Community Relations team is there to help families figure out next steps and answer any questions. The community also makes sure a long-term care ombudsman is available to help with any complaints, always in a confidential way. Grand Brook Memory Care of Rogers is rated highly by families, with most reviews sharing good experiences with staff and the safe, caring atmosphere, and the setting, surrounded by nature and lots of fresh air, is both restful and pleasant for everyone living there or coming to visit.
