Azalea Commons of Springdale sits in Springdale and is part of Providence Assisted Living facilities, offering services for adults 55 and over, and the place has a 4.2 rating from 5 reviews. Folks can choose assisted living, independent living, or memory care based on need, and the community tries to give residents as much independence as possible, though help is always there for bathing, dressing, and keeping up with medications, with licensed nurses available all day and night for emergencies or personal care. Residents live in spacious, climate-controlled apartments that have utilities, cable, in-unit washer and dryer, and either full kitchens or kitchenettes, with floor plans for studios, one-bedrooms, and two-bedrooms; prices for studios start at $1,500 a month, single rooms from $1,800, and two-bedrooms from $2,500, with maximums around $3,800 to $5,000. Most rooms are wired for internet and many have phones, call light systems in bedrooms and bathrooms, and safety and handicap features throughout, including smoke detectors, sprinkler systems, and a 24-hour emergency response system plus closed-circuit TV monitoring in the community areas for extra security, because it's important for folks to feel safe where they live. There's free transportation for errands and offsite appointments, guest parking, regular mail delivery, and local pharmacies drop off both prescription and non-prescription drugs, and folks can use onsite laundry and dry cleaning, weekly flat linen service, and help with three loads of personal laundry a week, so chores don't pile up too much. Meals get served in a decorated dining room with restaurant-style service three times a day, and anyone who wants snacks or needs something special can talk to staff, since the kitchen's always busy and the goal is to keep folks eating well. Staff help with personal needs, some pets are allowed, and there are lots of activities like walking and fishing clubs, bible-focused activities, art, games, and classes for mental and physical wellness. Housekeeping comes around every week, and common spaces let people gather and have social or educational programs, game nights, and sometimes trips outside for events, while religious services are offered on site and off site for those who want to keep up their spiritual routine. For folks with memory loss from Alzheimer's or other conditions, staff offer safety checks, tailored activities to prevent wandering, and extra reminders and help, so caregivers and families don't have to worry as much about confusion or safety. The home's hair salon and barber shop stay open for trims, and the place prides itself on having a homey environment, so residents feel cared for but free to do for themselves as much as they can, and everything is under the state license number 764. The staff includes part-time nurses and professional aides, always ready to help, and management says the mission is to give quality senior living in a caring spot.
Attentive staff, good value overall
I'm a happy resident and would recommend this assisted living - staff are top-notch (attentive RN/LPNs, supportive PCAs, engaged activities director), the place is clean and safe (24-hour security, night checks), has lots of parking, large rooms, good meals, and many activities that give peace of mind. Downsides: I noticed a weird smell on arrival, the building is older (bring your own furniture, no sink in the main living space), and I had troubling concerns about the head nurse and director that left me uneasy. Overall the caring staff, medication assistance, and lively programming make it a very good value despite those issues.
