    Worst nursing home, unsafe, neglectful

I lived at this facility and it was the worst nursing home experience I've had. We went weeks without heat, they ran out of food, medication errors were covered up, there was no crash cart or emergency readiness, maintenance kept a heater for their office while residents suffered, and the overall care environment was unsafe and neglectful.

    About Lincoln Heights Health Care

Lincoln Heights Health Care sits in Star City, Arkansas, and has space for up to 87 residents. This skilled nursing home is both Medicare and Medicaid certified, with care for seniors needing either short-term rehab, long-term nursing, or assisted living. There's always a licensed nurse on call, 24/7 awake staff, and systems like non-slip floors, emergency pull cords, and a full sprinkler system to help keep everyone safe. The staff makes sure residents have help with bathing, dressing, medication, and moving around, and there's memory care for folks with dementia. The facility offers private bedrooms and larger living rooms, regular laundry and linen service, furnished rooms with kitchenettes and private bathrooms, cable TV, Wi-Fi, and air conditioning.

Residents get meals each day in a dining hall that can handle dietary restrictions for allergies or diabetes, with snacks always out. The community has a library and reading nook, arts and crafts, birthday parties, movie nights, music, and a calendar full of activities, so people have plenty to do, plus transportation when it's needed to local shops, restaurants, or outings. Outside, there are walking paths, gardens, and places to sit or enjoy outdoor programs. The on-site rehab facility stays busy with physical therapy, occupational therapy, and others. Pharmacy, clinical lab, X-ray, social work, physician visits, mental health, and podiatry services are available on-site too. Housekeeping does routine cleaning, and staff helps keep apartments tidy.

Lincoln Heights Health Care also offers hospice care, long-term care, and manages diabetes for those who need it, and there's extra help for residents with disabilities or special needs, plus developmental disability support. Residents can take part in regular activities, games, fitness programs, religious services, and resident-led groups. The facility has changed owners in the last couple of years and now sits under a limited liability company with 87 licensed beds, though 47 were actively certified as of late 2023. It's had three substantiated complaints in recent years, and has paid fines, but still gets a 4 out of 5 rating for staff levels and a top mark for quality, according to Medicare.gov. Total nurse hours add up to just over four hours per resident per day. Staff gives continual support, moving assistance, and keeps care plans tailored to each person. The place is part of a Continuing Care Retirement Community, so it can adjust care as needs change, and accepts Medicaid and Medicare.

There's no detailed information about specific programs or names for activity areas, but Lincoln Heights Health Care keeps a steady routine, aiming for both comfort and safety, and helps residents and families with Medicaid and other support as needed.
