About A Place Called Home Residential Care

A Place Called Home Residential Care in Clovis, California, is a licensed residential care facility for the elderly with space for up to 6 seniors in a single-story building, so with only 6 beds, folks often say there's a homelike feeling people don't usually see in bigger places, and there's a high staff-to-resident ratio, about 1 caregiver for every 3 residents, which means more hands to help when someone needs dressing, bathing, feeding by spoon, mobility support, or just regular daily care. The facility accepts seniors needing long-term, non-acute care, including those dealing with dementia, Alzheimer's disease, Parkinson's, mild cognitive disorder, and stroke recovery, and they've put in place safety features like 24-hour security, keyless keypad entry, and awake staff all night. They offer private rooms with private bathrooms, and you can pick from studio suites, one-bedroom apartments, or semi-private spaces, all set up with utilities paid and plenty of amenities like a hair salon, barbershop, community kitchen, chapel, fitness center, greenhouse, library, movie viewing area, games spot, and even a garden and walking trails to stretch legs or sit for some sun while the grass is always neat. Folks here can bring small pets, and the place has flat-rate pricing, which really helps families plan.

Each person gets their own care plan, and nurses check on everyone regularly, plus there's a doctor visiting every month. Staff help manage medication, diabetes care, weight, stroke recovery, and can provide help with getting dressed, taking a bath, moving about, and mealtimes if needed, and for more complex needs, they handle memory care, specialized Parkinson's support, and hospice. All meals are home-cooked, sometimes with a 5-star chef for special occasions, served in a big community dining room or outside on a patio if the weather's nice, and there's always extra help for eating if someone needs it. Activities fill most days, and folks can join in arts and crafts, wellness center exercise, social events, birthday or holiday parties, outdoor get-togethers, or spend time with friends in the theater, recreation and computer rooms, or the comfortable common spaces filled with custom-built European home décor that tries to add a bit of beauty.

Residents and families can use private or shared transportation for doctor appointments with free rides in the area, so getting to town or medical visits is a bit easier. The housekeeping team looks after cleaning and laundry, while staff help with personal grooming, and moving in won't be a worry either - they pitch in with that too, and visiting friends or family always find parking close to the building. The place works under California license #107202828, and while they don't take Medicare unless certified, they work closely with the Department of Aging and Veteran's Services. A Place Called Home Residential Care has several locations in Clovis - Calimyrna, Quail Lake, Harlan Ranch, North Willow - all using names that mean something special around here, trying to keep things personal and connected, and each location feels more like a home than a typical facility. The environment's serene, designed for comfort, and folks running it say they're the "Premier Assisted Living Specialists" in the valley, focusing on peace of mind for families and as much independence or support as each resident needs.
