    Attentive, professional, home-like senior care

I placed my mom in this small, family-run community and feel confident I made the right choice. The staff are hardworking, professional and genuinely caring - very attentive with RN oversight and excellent communication - and they gave her one-on-one, home-like care that made her happy and healthy. The facility is clean, quaint and peaceful with a beautiful patio/deck, spacious dining room, good food, many activities (bingo, poker, outings, parties) and lots of family involvement; pricing can be higher than some places, but for us it was worth it. Highly recommend.

    About Carmelo Park

Carmelo Park is a family-run senior living community that's part of Songbird Care Homes and has been operating since 1994, offering assisted living, memory care, respite, independent living, and continuing care in a homelike setting with a strong focus on respect, dignity, and individual needs. The community has a welcoming, nautical-themed interior, bright spacious bedrooms with lots of natural light, and private half bathrooms, as well as quiet spaces with serene forest views, so residents can relax indoors or enjoy the outdoors on decks and walking paths, and folks often mention the forest scenery as something special. You'll find a range of amenities like a well-stocked library, beauty salon, activity room, and outdoor patio dining, plus the convenience of common areas and a variety of accommodation choices including furnished rooms with telephone access.

Staff, led by overseer Jennifer and other long-standing managers, has decades of experience in elder care, and people always mention they show both patience and kindness, making sure each resident gets care that's tailored to their needs, including hourly night checks and a 24-hour emergency call system. Carmelo Park supports seniors who want a relaxing, community-centered environment with structured daily activities, monthly birthday celebrations, and social events, but the main focus is always on simple care and quality of life over constant group activities, with the activities director ensuring there's always something meaningful to do, whether it's arts and crafts, movie nights, or gardening. Folks value the transparency in pricing, since all expected price increases show up in the contract, so there are no surprises, and you get the sense that communication is open and honest throughout.

They offer a wide range of healthcare services, including medication management, diabetic care, incontinence support, catheter or colostomy care, and non-ambulatory care, as well as speech, physical, and occupational therapies, and also have memory care services with a secured environment and specialized attention for dementia and Alzheimer's, using unique care plans and cognitive activities. Hospice, respite, and short-term care are available, with aging in place options set up so folks can stay even as care needs change. Residents get help with daily tasks like bathing, dressing, transferring, and medication, meals are prepared with special diets in mind, and housekeeping, laundry, beautician, podiatrist, and even hygienist services all help keep things comfortable.

There's good security throughout, including coded entry for wander-prone residents, full supervision, and easy access to staff day and night, and the smaller size compared to nearby communities means the staff really gets to know everyone. Carmelo Park has a warm, friendly feel, and the leadership team, including the owner, administrator, and founder, stays involved with daily operations, billing, and staff training, with many employees having been there for years, which offers some real continuity of care. Meals are served daily in the dining room, and there are plenty of chances to enjoy quiet social moments, outdoor picnics, or participate in group activities, with a professional activities coordinator making sure people can stay active, social, and engaged. Carmelo Park supports independence, tends to each resident's preferences, and its smaller, family-oriented feel has made it a friendly, peaceful community for those looking for help with daily life and healthcare in a safe, comfortable place.
