    Caring home with some issues

I placed my mom at Bella Nova and overall it felt like a clean, home-like, family-run place with compassionate, attentive staff and an accommodating owner (Adriana). Home-cooked meals, personalized care, therapy and small outings improved her mobility and mood, and staff treated residents with dignity - we had real peace of mind. That said, we had a rocky start and later saw inconsistent night staffing, occasional food/cleaning issues and troubling billing/refund problems, so I'd advise monitoring contracts and finances.

    About Bella Nova Villa

Bella Nova Villa sits in a quiet neighborhood at 1111 Ivywood Drive, Oxnard, California, lined with palm trees and close to the seaside, and you'll notice right away that it's a single-story home, so there aren't stairs to worry about for folks with limited mobility, and it has only six bedrooms and two baths so the place stays cozy, and with space for ten or fewer residents it keeps that smaller, family-like feeling. Caregivers and staff provide personal care, help with bathing, dressing, and getting around, and there's always someone nearby since there's 24-hour supervision and skilled nursing care if needed, plus a doctor and nurse who can be called when someone needs extra help. There's a focus on letting people hold on to as much independence as possible, and the care always comes with dignity and respect, with staff who treat everyone kindly and like family, and a dedicated owner who keeps things running smoothly.

People living at Bella Nova Villa have meals cooked for them with special diets taken into account, like for allergies and diabetes, and you'll find a bright dining room with hardwood floors and big windows full of natural light, and both scheduled meals and all-day dining options so no one needs to rush if they're not hungry at the usual times. The bedrooms are tastefully decorated and can be personalized, and each one's furnished with access to a telephone, and residents can have their own things to make it feel like home. There's an open living room where everyone can see right out onto the patio and backyard, comfortable seats to relax, and both indoor and outdoor common spaces to enjoy, including a garden and walking paths, all set in a quiet area good for rest.

Memory care is available with spaces designed for people who need extra structure or security, and staff can handle medication management and coordination with any healthcare providers, so everything's kept in order. Aside from assistance with daily tasks, amenities include home care and hospice services, and transportation's provided for appointments or outings, with community-sponsored activities offered onsite and offsite to help everyone stay active, including a full social calendar, movie nights, Xbox Kinect for interactive games and exercise, and special events meant to help residents stay physically, mentally, and socially engaged, and these can all help people keep their spirits up. Pets are welcome, and housekeeper services keep things tidy along with laundry and dry cleaning, and emergency alert systems are everywhere so help's always close by.

Bella Nova Villa covers a wide range of care including independent and assisted living, board and care, skilled nursing, memory care, respite care, home care, and even continuing care for changing needs, all set in a small, personal setting instead of a big facility, and the amenities like transportation, meal services, and accessible restrooms are all set up for adults aged 55 and older. Multi-language caregiver support is offered in English, and resident comfort and safety are always given honest, practical attention, so it tends to work well for people looking for a quiet retirement community by the sea with a close-knit, dignified atmosphere. Tours are available so folks can see the home first hand and decide if the family-like setting feels right for them or their loved ones.
