    Kind staff, clean, small room

I appreciated the kind, competent caregivers, friendly staff, clean home with a garden view, good food, and activities like word searches and iPad instruction for my 95‑year‑old. However, staff were inconsistently reachable (calls dropped, no voicemail), and the room was very small with the bathroom down the hall.

    About Royal Home Care

Royal Home Care sits in Paso Robles, California, at 729 Bolen Drive, and operates as a small assisted living and board and care home, licensed for up to 6 residents, so it's got a close-knit, home-like setting where staff can focus on each person's needs, and folks often say the food is pretty good and everything stays clean, which is important when you're looking for a comfortable place to live out your later years. Caregivers help with bathing, dressing, transfers, toileting, medication management, and offer personal care like washing and grooming, and they'll support anyone who needs help with walking or a wheelchair, and also those with incontinence or cognitive issues through memory care, which makes daily tasks less of a burden for many residents and their families.

They run strong pre-hiring checks so all staff go through background checks, drug screening, immunizations, driving record checks, reference checks, offender lists, and confirm where they live, and staff are experienced, trained, and know how to give non-medical care ranging from daily healthy meals, housekeeping, to companionship, light laundry, and even a traveling barber or stylist, and while they arrange transportation for things like doctor's appointments, errands, or faith-based visits, they keep activities fresh with things like word search books, iPad instruction, music, movie nights, board games, art events, community events, outings in the garden or along walking paths, and fitness programs, and there's a book room, community dining, furnished rooms, a salon, and even a jacuzzi or sauna.

The setting is a private residential house so it feels less institutional and more relaxing, and with only a handful of residents, staff can offer a bit more attention, give tailored help to people needing special diets for stuff like high blood pressure or diabetes, and try to make sure everyone's values, independence, and dignity get preserved, and if a resident needs extra help, like two-person transfers, insulin dosing, or 24-hour alert staff, that kind of thing might be possible if you check what services are available right then.

Royal Home Care offers respite and hospice care, and the team tries to work with outside healthcare providers if extra services or support are needed, so residents can keep routines and feel secure knowing help's always at hand, and they keep the vibe friendly by making sure the staff respond quickly and treat people with kindness and respect, which past residents have appreciated, and being near local medical facilities and entertainment in Paso Robles, residents have easy access to more community options outside, and the short waitlist and flexible pricing mean most can figure out if Royal Home Care fits their situation by asking.

The house operates under California license #405801742, and falls under the board and care or residential care home category, which means the staff can give a little more individualized attention, and with a community score of 5.5 on Seniorly's system, it reflects steady service without making lofty promises, and although Royal Home Care doesn't have all the bells and whistles of a big facility, it covers the basics with a reputation for being kind, safe, and clean, which is what most folks want in their later years.
