Mission View Health Center sits within a Continuing Care Retirement Community and offers several types of care including short-term rehab after hospital stays and longer-term personal care for people who need it, and while it's an older place, the staff is known for being attentive, respectful, and friendly, which makes a big difference to those who live there, and as for the rooms, residents get private spaces with their own bathrooms, cable TV, internet, phones, and kitchenettes, plus there's air conditioning to keep cool, and folks who live here can take part in scheduled daily activities like music and arts, join in on resident-run activities, or just relax in the fitness room, the movie theater, the swimming spa, or wellness room, and there're walking paths, gardens, a game room, and a library for quiet time or visits with family, and meals are prepared and served with care for special diets like diabetes or allergies so no one's left out, and for people who need help with everyday things like getting dressed, bathing, or moving around, the staff is there 24 hours a day, with nurses working 12-16 hour shifts to look after everyone, and there's an emergency alert system, move-in help, and even a concierge to make things easier, and for rides or getting around, transportation and parking are available, which helps families, who also can use the family support services program, and to keep things clean, housecleaning and laundry services including dry cleaning get taken care of, and health care services are broad, including medication management, help with transfers, shower assistance, case management, and more, and there's skilled nursing for folks who need more serious medical care, along with on-site support like podiatry, dentistry, psychology, and even hospice partnered inpatient care, and the gym inside is state-of-the-art, with an outdoor therapy area so patients can practice moving over real-world surfaces and barriers to regain strength, and if you look at the bed availability there are 58 certified beds out of 162 as of June 2025, and the community accepts Medicare, Medicaid, Medi-Cal, Managed Care, private insurance, and Veterans Affairs (V.A.), and residents and families can bring up concerns through a council to help improve care, plus parking's right there on the property, and for those who need rehab fast and intensive after a hospital stay, or slower, attentive care for longer stays, there are two units for those different needs, and while there aren't special names for units or staff in the material, folks say the meals are balanced and good, and the facility puts a big focus on helping each resident meet their recovery goals, and everything is arranged to be manageable and as supportive as possible, keeping things straightforward for people and their families.

Caring staff, facility needs improvement
I'm torn - the people here are incredible: Suzette, Nurse Saul, the CNAs, aides and therapists were kind, competent and kept residents active and engaged, and hospice care was compassionate. Activities were lively and inclusive, COVID precautions and on-time meals were solid, and special diets (including vegan) were accommodated. That said, the building felt old and gloomy, rooms/bathrooms weren't always cleaned or sanitized daily, I saw only one shower offered, and poor night monitoring led to a CPAP mask injury. Communication was inconsistent - a rude phone interaction (Cindy), trouble reaching doctors/management, and rigid visitor rules made things harder. Meals were hit-or-miss and not always diabetic-friendly. Bottom line: staff are angels, but the facility needs better cleaning, management communication and telephone-etiquette training.
