    Mom happy, well cared for

I placed my mom here and overall I'm very pleased: beautiful landscaping, clean well-maintained apartments, a safe environment, and outstanding, senior-friendly food. Staff are professional, friendly and responsive, residents are welcoming, and there are abundant activities and exercise options (wonderful pool, breakfast at the Palms, etc.). My mom is happy and well cared for. The campus is large and spread across separate buildings with no on-site memory care, so it doesn't feel small or intimate - but for active seniors who want great food, service, and programming, I recommend it.

About The Village at The Oaks

The Village at The Oaks sits on nine acres, surrounded by big oak trees, well-kept gardens, peaceful courtyards, and a calm creek that runs through the property, and you can always see nice views all around, which gives things a quiet, relaxing feel, especially when you look at the parks and options for cafes nearby. The community has a long history of over 25 years offering senior housing, and covers different kinds of care, so there's independent living, assisted living in Garden Creek, skilled nursing, companion care, home care for extra help, and memory care which happens in Sydney Creek, where they try to make it feel just like home and keep things safe for people who need more help with memory problems. The rooms come in studio layouts and include basic things like kitchens or kitchenettes, washers and dryers, safety features, maintenance, cable TV, and all the regular things you'd want for daily living, which makes life easier for folks who don't want to worry about chores and cleaning, since there's laundry, dry cleaning, housekeeping, and help with keeping a tidy home or organizing medications is part of daily support.

The Village at The Oaks offers a range of social activities, with things like concerts, water aerobics, crafts, lectures, and both physical and mental programs, all meant to keep people feeling healthy, engaged, and social, so there's always a schedule of events going on, plus a community magazine and stories to keep everyone up to date with what's happening around the campus. There's a dining room with meals made to be nutritious and enjoyable, a salon/barbershop for personal care, a fitness center, game room, high speed internet, and guest parking. The community supports different lifestyles and needs, so some folks live independently in their own apartments and others get extra help with daily tasks like bathing, dressing, or using a wheelchair, and there's a wellness team in Garden Creek's assisted living for more personal support. Sydney Creek memory care is set up with neighborhoods aimed at safety and keeping confusion down, helping those who need it feel relaxed and as independent as possible while staff offer an invisible blanket of security. There are also resources about hearing aids, cell phones, internet plans, ID theft protection, medication dispensers, and guides to help with senior safety and technology.

The surrounding area has one hospital close by, along with 38 physicians, 9 pharmacies, three places of worship, 23 restaurants, 11 cafes, two transportation options, and 9 parks nearby, so people have quick access to care, food, outdoor space, social places, and ways to get around town. The neighborhood provides information about local weather, crime, and health services, and the average rating for The Village at The Oaks is about 6 out of 10, based on reviews from people in the community. Staff have a reputation for being helpful, joyful, and kind, and there's an effort to create a friendly place so people feel welcome. The community has earned awards for its activity planning, and it offers resources for those using long-term care insurance. The Village at The Oaks is meant to let people live with as much freedom as possible, with safety and personal care in place for those who want some support, making it a steady choice for seniors seeking various levels of care and an active lifestyle.
