About ABOUT CARE ASSISTED LIVING CENTER

About Care Assisted Living Center sits up on a hill in Seaside, California, where you get these really beautiful gardens and wide views over the city, and there's always something to look at, whether you're walking along the paths or just enjoying the breeze out there. Residents live in private apartments that can be one or two bedrooms, and each has a kitchenette with a microwave, refrigerator, sink, and cabinets, plus a spacious bathroom with a walk-in shower and a night light, and there's emergency call systems in every apartment, just in case someone needs quick help. Each apartment also has telephone and cable connections, heating and air conditioning you can control, so it feels like home and lets people keep their independence. The whole place has a calm, supportive feel, especially for folks who need regular help with daily life or are dealing with memory problems like Alzheimer's, and the staff there includes trained caregivers, licensed nurses, and special associates who really know what to do when someone needs extra support.

The staff works day and night to help with things like dressing, bathing, moving around, and taking medicine, and there's always someone around if there's an emergency. They also do a great job keeping everything tidy, with daily maid service to clean up and make sure rooms have what people need, and laundry and even dry cleaning is all handled for you, so nobody has to worry about chores. Food is a big part of living here, with meals and snacks provided every day through Gold Leaf Dining, and they pay close attention to special diets, like for diabetes or food allergies. Residents pick meals from a menu, and if someone wants to eat outside the usual times, there's an all-day dining option.

A full-time activities director comes up with things to do, and these activities go beyond games or movies, since there are outings, events, religious services, support groups for families, and social programs to encourage everyone to get to know each other, and you can always find someone to talk to or something to do together. For health and care, About Care has 24-hour supervision, help with medicine, and attention to health concerns from the team of healthcare professionals, and the staff coordinate with outside doctors if needed. They also make special personalized care plans, which means each person gets help that fits what matters most to them and what they need to live comfortably. And when someone has had a hard time with falls or feels lonely or finds cooking and daily tasks too much, there's always someone close by to give a hand and make life a bit easier.

The Center is licensed for 15 beds and operates with the license number 277209330, so families know it's watched over by the state, and though it doesn't take Medicare unless certified, it works to be less costly than full-time nursing care. It's also the only place in Monterey County where residents in a hospice program, who might not have a caregiver or a safe living place, can get end-of-life care in a real home-like setting. The Center is part of the Jerry Rubin Foundation, backed by the Hospice Giving Foundation, and all donations are tax deductible. The mission here is straightforward-offering a peaceful, caring place to live, especially for those who need help at the end of their lives, but might not have many options otherwise. The staff-doctors, nurses, caregivers, administrators, chaplains, and volunteers-want people to feel comfortable, respected, and supported each day. Whether someone needs a short stay for rehab or plans to make this their new home, they provide services for a range of health and personal needs, and their focus stays on keeping people happy, safe, and connected for as long as they stay.
