    Beautiful, welcoming community; staffing concerns.

I love the beautiful, well-maintained buildings, golf-course and mountain views, roomy apartments and resort-style amenities - the activities are excellent and many staff are warm and caring. Chef Chris and Kia have made memorable meals, and the community often feels welcoming and home-like. That said, staffing shortages, high turnover and slow maintenance response are persistent headaches; dining is buffet-style (not sit-down), which can be hard for walkers, and food/service quality has been inconsistent. Communication with families and billing can be poor, and assisted/memory-care reports are mixed. It's expensive with a waitlist, but I'd still recommend touring - just go in with eyes open about staffing, dining and cost.

    About Sunrise at FlatIrons

Sunrise at FlatIrons sits between Flatirons Crossing Mall and Omni Interlocken Golf Course, and you'll notice right away how the three-story community feels open, cheery, and filled with natural light, while the cheerful and friendly staff, including administrator Susan Crawford, keep things clean and welcoming. The building offers different living options, with studio, one-bed, and two-bed pet-friendly apartments designed for independent living, assisted living, memory care, skilled nursing, short-term stays, hospice care, and Dignity Home Care. Residents eat meals in dining rooms with elegant wood tables, large windows, and decorative curtains, or at the lively bistro, and each meal tastes much like what you'd expect at a restaurant, with choices for special diets like low/no sugar and low/no sodium, room service, and guest meals available, all prepared to support health and enjoyment. There's a focus on being supportive, especially for those needing memory care, with specialized programs like Reminiscence Program and Terrace Club, brain-challenging activities, and therapies built to reduce confusion and provide comfort for those with Alzheimer's and dementia.

Amenities cover just about everything you could think of, including a fitness center, TV lounge, movie theater, library, arts and crafts center, barber shop, beauty salon, computer room, bar/pub, game room, business center, common areas with fireplaces, enclosed courtyards, raised garden beds, putting green, and outdoor spaces like patios and gazebos, plus mountain views and landscaped grounds. You'll find that independent living here lets active seniors enjoy maintenance-free living, while housekeeping, transportation, personal care, nursing, and home care are provided as needed for those in assisted living or nursing care. Sunrise at FlatIrons has transportation by bus lines and community vehicles, parking for residents, and transportation at cost for offsite activities or medical needs, plus they do offer telehealth to keep doctor visits easier. There's also the Sunrise CareConnect electronic health system, so care, medications, and progress notes are tracked carefully. The building's equipped with handicap accessible features, Wi-Fi, wheel-chair accessible showers, full tubs, and safety is always a priority.

Residents have programs and activities set up each day, from gardening and walking paths to educational events, entertainment, social clubs, and devotional services both onsite and offsite, plus sensory-based programming with reminiscence or light therapy. There are options for respite care for families needing a short-term stay for loved ones, whether for recovery or just to give caregivers a break, with services adapted as needs change. The holistic approach stands out because every resident gets wellness support and programming designed around their own wants and preferences, aiming to make senior living peaceful, enjoyable, and respectful. Sunrise at FlatIrons, as part of Sunrise Senior Living, has a track record with over 280 National Quality Awards, and every staff member aims to champion the quality of life for every senior, providing dependable, compassionate care in a pleasant, safe environment.

    About Sunrise Senior Living

Beginning with a single community in 1981, there are now more than 280 Sunrise Senior Living communities throughout the U.S. and Canada. Each of our communities maintains the mission laid out by Sunrise founders Paul and Terry Klaassen more than 40 years ago: to champion quality of life for all seniors. The Klaassens’ vision to redefine senior care resulted in a resident-centered approach to care that focuses on the individuality of each resident and has set the standard in the assisted living industry. We are defined by our people. Our team of serving hearts are guided by our mission, Principles of Service and Values – all of which help encourage independence, preserve dignity and enable freedom of choice for each resident.
