    Warm safe small assisted living

I love this small, home-like assisted living - warm, safe and happy with caring owners and attentive staff (Care Director Nancy Ruminaki is amazing). My mom had a clean, well-equipped private room with sink/toilet, family-style meals, short walks and 24-hour care; staff are knowledgeable and hospitable. It's centrally located across from a friendly senior center with easy parking - not a fancy building but very good value. Downsides: understaffing/turnover causing occasional wait times, some incomplete deliveries and limited specialty diabetic meals; good for assisted living but not for much higher care needs.

    About Crestview Assisted Living

Crestview Assisted Living sits at 1414 N Hancock Ave in Colorado Springs, CO, offering care for adults over 55 who need extra help in daily life, and the place has a long list of services that keep pace with changing needs, and while it's not the shiniest building in town you'll notice most folks stay for the staff who really spend time listening to what each person wants, whether it's a quiet room, someone to walk with around the property, or help with getting ready each morning because they have people trained in QMAP, CPR, and First Aid, all of them ready to help with medication, wounds, or just keeping you company if you get lonely some days. The place is connected to the Larry D. McCall Veterans Residential Care Quarters, and there are other buildings in the Crestview group like Willows at Crestview, Maple Grove at Crestview, and Whispering Pines at Crestview, so there's a mix of people and spaces across the property with a total of 11 apartments in the main building, each with private rooms, cable TV, kitchenettes for the folks who like to prepare a snack, handicap-accessible layouts, and both private or semi-private nursing and memory care studio options for those who don't want to share their space but also don't want to be on their own all day.

Crestview covers a lot of care levels, from Independent Living, Assisted Living, Memory Care with its own staff and programs for dementia or Alzheimer's, down to Long-Term Care, Skilled Nursing, Home Care, and even Hospice, so there's a wide range and it means families can sometimes keep their loved one in the same place even if needs increase, and they do offer Medicaid as well as Private Pay, with rates running from about $2,500 up to $11,000 depending on which kind of room or service someone needs.

Every resident gets regular support with things like dressing, grooming, incontinence, medication, or even just someone to help do laundry, make the bed, or drive them to an appointment, and the staff pay attention to special diets or doctor's orders through daily meals, snacks, and nutrition from a dietitian with meals served restaurant-style, which gives people a chance to gather and talk if they want. The place has three meals a day, special diets for those who need them, and a snack café area so folks can eat when they're hungry, but also has activities for people who like to stay engaged ranging from art therapy, music programs, educational classes, fitness center access, movies, a game room, outdoor activities, and planned social trips, so while you'll see some folks content in their own rooms, there's regular movement and friendly conversation in the halls and lounges.

The Crestview building has a hair salon, laundry rooms, WiFi, covered parking, computer room, library, lounge areas, storage areas, dining rooms, guest accommodations, and there's always staff around for safety, since they have handicap features and sprinkler systems throughout. Medical support comes from on-call nurses, physicians, and specialists like podiatry or occupational therapy, so even if someone's health needs change, they don't have to move right away. Crestview also handles all kinds of administrative things, including housekeeping, transportation, linen, and personalized care plans, and they keep track of feedback from families, update plans, handle move-in steps, and make sure everyone's clear on the waiting list and discharge policies, so there aren't a lot of surprises along the way.

The community's known for taking time to understand each person's limitations and goals, setting care plans to help folks feel comfortable, maintain independence, and live with some dignity, whether you want to be busy with activities or need more supervision day to day. Crestview Assisted Living gets a 4.0 overall rating from most folks, though with a handful of mixed reviews (one place says 3.7 from three reviews), and it doesn't promise gold-plated halls but instead puts its energy into steady support, a neighborly setting, and keeping a sense of companionship for people who may just want some quiet, regular help as they age.
