    Beautiful facility, poor customer service

I toured this beautiful, resident-focused facility with a lovely setting opposite a park and museums - floor-to-ceiling windows and small but nice one-bedrooms. The director was friendly and many residents seemed happy, but customer service and communication were poor (rude, argumentative administrator) and parking is a problem. There's a 12-month wait list and a $2,500 occupancy fee, so I would not recommend it.

    About Montview Manor

Montview Manor is a nonprofit senior living community in Denver, Colorado, located right across from City Park and close to museums, hospitals, cafes, parks, and public transit, so people can easily get where they need to go and enjoy the city. The place offers affordable high-rise apartments for people 55 and older, with pet-friendly rules for cats and dogs as long as they fit the weight limit; the apartments range from smaller efficiencies to large two-bedroom homes, all with private balconies, big windows, and baths with tubs-most are pretty spacious. There's a guest suite for family visits, laundry rooms, a fitness center, a library, a thrift shop, and a community center and lounge where people can sit together or join social activities. Staff, including the director, are known to be friendly, and there's a nurse's clinic, memory care, respite care, home care, hospice, assisted living, skilled nursing, adult daycare, and independent living services, so care can be tailored to different needs. Residents get meals with the Top of the Manor evening dining program, and there are activities, a volunteer program, and beautician services available on-site; a rooftop deck and penthouse let you see all around Denver, including the foothills and zoo, which makes for a nice view while relaxing outdoors. There's a state-of-the-art life safety system, an emergency generator, and around-the-clock maintenance for safety and support. Apartments have heat, air, ranges, fridges, and some parking is available for residents, though parking can be tight and the waiting list for a spot or an apartment can stretch up to a year. Residents pay a $2,500 occupancy fee to move in. Montview Manor has kept up with public audits and nonprofit filings, so its operations stay transparent since its tax-exempt status began in 1998. This is a place that tries to foster an active, safe, and affordable community for older adults, with plenty of supportive services and convenient access to all that Denver has to offer.
