    Caring staff, serious systemic problems

I lived here and my experience was deeply mixed. Positives: many caring CNAs and friendly staff (personal atento, personal de buen humor), active activities program (picnics, theater, Village Inn Wednesdays), some excellent staff members (Dora, Paula, Cecilia, Olivia, Wonda), hospice support, and moments of very good food and engagement. Negatives: I personally experienced/witnessed alarming issues - a nurse threatened me, alleged theft of mail and belongings, accusations of antisemitism, an eviction notice, retaliation, and a lack of transparency from management and the owner. Care was inconsistent: call lights ignored, long delays for meds, staff inattentive or talking instead of responding, dirty rooms, odor and pest reports, and concerns about overmedication. I left for a different climate; I'd only recommend this place with strong caution - visit repeatedly, monitor mail and meds, and insist on clear communication.

    About Parkview Care Center

Parkview Care Center sits at 3105 W Arkansas Ave in Jefferson County, though it serves people from several counties like Adams, Arapahoe, Boulder, Broomfield, Denver, Douglas, and Jefferson, and is managed by Vivage Senior Living, under the CHCA District I group with its main office in Denver. The place takes insurance and allows immigrants without documentation to come for care, and you'll see wheelchair access throughout the building-ramps, disabled parking, tape Braille, and easy-to-use restroom facilities, so folks with disabilities won't have trouble getting around, which really helps a lot. The care's broken up into a few different types, including an intermediate care facility and skilled nursing, and you get rehabilitative and long-term respite care right there on site, so someone needing rehab or behavioral health management services can get therapy, skilled nurses, or short-term respite care-all without having to go far. When someone needs specialized help like hospice, chronic disease management, or behavioral health support, there's a team that's used to working with folks who may need a little more attention, and the goal is to treat each person with compassion, dignity, and respect, which sometimes means celebrating all sorts of people-so you see bilingual nurses and caregivers, a Latino Program, a Hispanic neighborhood in the community, dining programs and activities that suit Hispanic residents, celebrating things like Cinco De Mayo, and just overall efforts to help everyone feel included, since a lot of the residents come from different backgrounds. Amenities include sheltered patio spots in a nice courtyard, a community garden, and a schedule of meaningful activities that focus on person-centered care, all so residents can feel a sense of independence while being supported in a safe setting. The facility's focus is to heal the mind, body, and spirit, with recovery-focused therapy programs designed to help folks transition home if they're staying for only a little while, though plenty are there long-term too. The staff size sits somewhere between 51 and 200 people, with many trained for specialty care, and the public company affiliation keeps oversight pretty tidy. Parkview doesn't shy away from tailoring care to suit each resident's needs, which shows in how they create dining, enrichment, and therapy programs with the help of on-site therapists and bilingual staff, always aiming for comfort and convenience rather than frills or fuss.
