Carillon at Belleview Station sits in southwest Denver, right by Belleview Station with easy light rail and bus access, and it's managed by Ascent Living Communities. This six-story community built in August 2019 has 163 total units, including 139 independent and assisted living apartments plus 24 memory care suites, so it can handle different care needs as people age. Studio, one-bedroom, and two-bedroom apartments are available-some even have full kitchens, balconies, and private options, and for seniors with pets, cats and small dogs are allowed in independent and assisted living with management approval and a monthly fee.
The building uses concrete construction with a walk-out basement, covering about 173,000 square feet, and offers covered parking and valet service. Residents get access to different services such as meal plans, vegetarian options, a laundry service (or self-serve laundry), housekeeping, activities, and scheduled transportation for outings and appointments. The Carillon Bistro and wine bar, restaurant, private dining room, and a bistro give people a choice in dining, while the gym, beauty salon, spa, sixth-floor sky lounge with outdoor terrace and full bar, theatre, reading room, and game lounge offer places to relax or socialize. Social activities include exercise classes, happy hours, lectures, language learning, music, art, and brain training programs to keep minds sharp and spirits up.
The community offers independent living for active seniors wanting a maintenance-free life, a supportive assisted living environment for those who need help with bathing, dressing, and chores, and a secured memory care unit for people living with Alzheimer's or other types of dementia. The Assisted Living section has 24-hour nursing oversight. The Memory Care program, called Touchpoints, focuses on personalized care, a safe environment, and daily activities designed to help residents stay engaged and feel comfortable; there's a high staff-to-resident ratio, and staff work to know each resident well enough to tailor activities and routines. For safety, emergency call systems, neck pendants, wristbands, bathroom pull cords, and motion sensors are all built in.
Other features include specialized therapy with visiting physical, speech, and occupational therapists, as well as doctors, dentists, and podiatrists who come to the building. The interfaith chapel supports Jewish and non-denominational services, while worship off-site is supported too. The community is non-smoking and supports residents' privacy and independence but also encourages friendships and social interaction. Carillon has flexible options with month-to-month leases, 30-day termination notice, and doesn't accept Medicaid. Residents must be at least 55 to live here. While it isn't perfect, Carillon at Belleview Station does offer a variety of services and amenities to help seniors live as safely and comfortably as possible while adjusting as care needs change.
