    Compassionate care but management problems

I was impressed - the frontline staff are compassionate, friendly and competent: nursing, dietary, housekeeping, therapy and activities were excellent, rehab helped my dad walk again, meds and medical care were generally on time, and the facility was very clean and welcoming. Communication with family, transportation and COVID-era window visits were handled well. My praise is tempered by serious management problems reported by staff (harassment, frequent off-hours calls, expectation to work off the clock, delayed final paychecks) and a few troubling care lapses; overall great hands-on care but be aware of administrative/management issues.

    About Valley View Villa

Valley View Villa sits in Fort Morgan, Colorado, as a non-profit, long-term care and assisted living facility that's been around for a while and is known for its strong community reputation, and this place really does a bit of everything when it comes to senior care because you can find Adult Care Home, Assisted Living, Independent Living, Skilled Nursing Facility, Home Care, Home Health, Hospice, Memory Care, Support & Referrals, short-term rehabilitation, and long-term care all under one roof, so folks with different needs get a care plan designed for them, whether they need high, medium, or low care or a specialized service like rehabilitation after a hospital stay, managing diabetes, or memory support. Their staff can help residents move from bed to wheelchair, look after folks with incontinence, provide diabetic care including insulin monitoring, handle non-ambulatory care, and there's always a nurse or medical team on duty 24 hours a day for emergencies, which brings some peace of mind. Residents get three meals from meal planners and chefs, with a certified dietitian for special diets, and there's a fine dining program if someone's looking for a little extra comfort at mealtimes, and snacks are available outside of regular meals.

You'll find room choices like studios, one-bedrooms, two-bedrooms, semi-private, and private rooms, and all the bathrooms are private, with flat-screen TVs, telephone and cable hookups, daily housekeeping, laundry services, and even complimentary WiFi so residents can keep in touch or watch their shows, and flexible visiting hours mean family can drop in. Valley View Villa keeps things homelike with landscaped courtyards, sitting areas, a library, and outdoor recreation spaces where residents walk or relax, and pet visitors bring a little extra joy. There's a full-time certified activity team offering movement and social programs, devotional activities, and both on-site and off-site events, with common indoor spaces for folks to meet, plus a beauty salon and barber shop and even transportation for appointments or outings.

For folks needing rehab or breaking up the stay between home and hospital, the rehabilitation area features state-of-the-art tools like the AlterG® Anti-Gravity Treadmill®, with physical therapy for mobility after injuries or illness, occupational therapy to help with independence in daily life, and speech therapy for communication or swallowing problems. They run patient and family education groups, community re-entry programs for those going home, and have tailored care plans shaped by teams of nurses and therapists, offering medication management, wound care, infection management, IV therapy, pre-admission programs, case management, social services, and discharge planning, and the on-site physician helps speed up medical care when it's needed.

Residents have access to hospice, memory care, and even high acuity or non-ambulatory care, so even folks who need a lot of help can live here, and the place has added safety features like 24-hour security, fire safety systems, bedside and bathroom call lights, and dedicated relaxation or social spaces. Visitors should know Valley View Villa allows payment by private pay, veteran's benefits, social security, and commercial insurance, and fees include community, respite, buy-in, and care level rates, along with a second person fee if two people want to live in one room. The whole place doesn't allow smoking, but pet visitors are welcome, and the staff aim to keep things welcoming and safe, with a warm, community-focused atmosphere, so folks from Fort Morgan and the surrounding areas feel like they belong, and their Facebook page gives families a window into daily life and activities at the villa.
