Balfour Louisville Campus sits at 1331 Hecla Drive in Louisville, Colorado, close to shops, restaurants, and the scenic Rocky Mountains, and the place has a quiet, resort-like feel with comfortable rooms and friendly staff that are always around to help, offering 24-hour services every day of the year. The campus provides a range of living options, including independent living, assisted living, memory care, respite care, and skilled nursing, so seniors can find the level of support they need, and the care team is trained to help with everything from medication management to incontinence care or just daily activities like getting dressed, and anyone needing short-term rehabilitation will find therapy and wellness programs right on site. Residents choose from freestanding homes, villas, one-bedroom or two-bedroom apartments, with about 191 units in total, and the rooms often come with full kitchens, washers and dryers on each floor, utilities, expanded cable, Wi-Fi throughout the community, and even an emergency call system and daily check-ins, which is good for peace of mind. There's housekeeping twice a week, linens and towel service, apartment maintenance every day, and covered and guest parking, so all the basics are taken care of without hassle. Two meals per day are included, and the dining options get particularly high marks, with chefs offering both traditional and new dishes, weekly brunches, Happy Hours, High Tea, a bistro where residents can eat outside, and even a dining room server so residents can enjoy eating without chores. The campus stands out for a full calendar of activities-over 300 programs a month from Tai Chi and Healthy Living classes to concerts, lectures, field trips, summer barbecues, art and creative writing sessions, computer lessons, and social events, all planned by a dedicated life enrichment department, and there's a fitness center, aquatics in a heated pool and spa, and a Dynamic Wellness program for those who like to stay active. The community is pet-friendly and doesn't turn away pets, so both cats and dogs are welcome, and with plenty of outdoor space, residents and their pets can enjoy fresh air. The memory care center at Balfour Louisville Campus has larger rooms to help prevent confusion and wandering, and the campus is fully handicap accessible, with private rooms, high-speed internet, and attention to safety for everyone. The staff's known for being kind and helpful, and the environment is welcoming, with a strong focus on nutritious meals and joyful daily life. For those who need transportation, scheduled rides are available every day, and outings or luxury day trips are part of life at the community, which helps everyone stay connected to the shops, entertainment, and beautiful scenery around Louisville. There's also respite and short-term stay options for guests or those recovering from illness or surgery, and families can take tours to meet the staff or see daily activities before making a decision. The minimum entrance fee starts at $10,000, and there's a mix of independent retirement housing and Continuing Care Retirement Community (CCRC) benefits, so seniors can remain on campus as their needs change over time, aging in place. Community areas include places like The Lodge & Residences at Balfour, and the setting is both relaxing and social, with many awards for meals and engaging activities and recognition for its well-run staff and healthy, supportive environment.

Warm community with excellent food
I chose this community and am very pleased. The food is excellent-hot, inventive and varied-and meals are well organized. Staff (including a wonderful social worker and maintenance team) are kind, attentive and went above and beyond during a difficult transition, giving us real peace of mind. Activities are varied and engaging (music, speakers, trips, movies, holiday celebrations) and pets are allowed. Downsides: limited first-floor rooms and it can be noisy, and during COVID staffing was strained so call-button responses were slower than ideal. Overall I highly recommend this warm, caring community.
