    Cozy, clean facility; lacks activities

I love this small, very clean facility - the staff are wonderful and the setting is pretty and cozy, not like a large community. But there are very few activities or outings (no transportation), residents often just sit with little stimulation, and usually only one caregiver is on during the day.

About Aurora Residential Alternatives at the Pinery

Aurora Residential Alternatives at the Pinery sits in Parker, Colorado, in a quiet, natural setting with lovely wildlife, beautiful trees, and wide, peaceful views that you don't see everywhere, but it's still near shops and restaurants, which makes visiting easy for families and friends. This community supports up to five people in a shared, home-like space, and they've been offering this kind of care for over 30 years, focusing mostly on seniors and folks living with disabilities, including those who have brain injuries, strokes, or dementia. Residents here get access to help around the clock from skilled staff who know how to support independence, safety, and comfort, while making sure everyone has their own space and feels valued and respected.

They offer different types of care, like assisted living, memory care, independent living, and nursing home services, and you can find programs to handle medication, daily living needs like hygiene or getting dressed, and even household tasks such as cooking and cleaning. The staff help residents with exercises to stay strong and balanced, along with training for fine and gross motor skills, so people can keep doing what they can for themselves. They also put effort into helping residents stay connected to the community, providing support for things like appointments and social plans, meeting personal interests, and making sure everyone feels involved.

Aurora at the Pinery uses a person-centered approach, which means support is tailored to what each person wants and needs, not just what's easiest for the staff, and you'll find care for cognitive skills, memory issues, and even emotional well-being, which can be really important as you age or if you're dealing with something tough like a stroke or brain injury. Residents have access to a health library, medical information, and special health tools like a symptom checker and behavioral health support, which is helpful when you need to make decisions or just want to understand what's going on. They offer assistive devices to help people keep their independence and use care coordination tools, so both residents and visitors get help with access and safety.

There's a strong focus on recovery and helping people get better or feel more independent over time, and the staff, including therapists and health professionals, work together from the start, letting each person pick their own healthcare providers. The staff are on-site 24 hours a day and offer all kinds of training, from stress and money management to cognitive support and daily activity practice. You also get emergency services and specialized programs for behavioral health recovery, which can be a relief for both residents and families. The living space is shared, but everyone has privacy, and the environment feels supportive, quiet, and safe, which means you can settle in and focus on being well. Pricing for the different levels of care can start around $3,159 and go up over $12,300 a month, with options depending on what kind of support is needed, and the community's reputation comes from many years of helping people in Colorado, both in Parker and nearby areas.
