    Safe, caring memory care environment

I placed my mom here and overall had a very good experience: clean, homey facility with attractive grounds, cozy common areas, engaging activities, appetizing meals, and kind, attentive staff - nurses and doctors were excellent and communication was strong. Rooms are on the small side and the community is best for dementia/memory care; however, skilled nursing is limited, some aides seemed inexperienced, and they couldn't manage advanced Parkinson's needs. Price was reasonable (about $7,200/mo) and for memory-focused, personalized care this felt like a safe, caring place I'd recommend.

The community has 60 units and offers both studio and suite-style private rooms, each with tools for comfort and safety, like private bathrooms and wheelchair-accessible showers. The place runs four neighborhoods for residents and has a secure, purpose-built memory care building set aside for those with Alzheimer's, dementia, or other cognitive needs, with bracelets and wander alerts for safety. Residents can rely on a staff of compassionate caregivers, with licensed nurses and 24-hour awake staff always on hand, who know how to help with both daily living needs and memory care.

Meadow Mills is part of the Priority Life Care network, which means they follow certain care standards and can help with assisted living, memory care, hospice, respite, rehabilitation, and skilled nursing care, all within the same community so folks can age in place as their needs change. Residents who want to be active get a full list of daily activities-stretching, yoga, art, cooking, brain fitness, scheduled lectures, community service, and gardening clubs-all run by a full-time activity director. The staff plan volunteer opportunities and encourage family involvement, aiming to create a friendly, supportive environment where residents feel valued and maintain independence.

Dining is handled in a restaurant-style room, though room service is an option, and they can handle special diets like gluten-free, diabetic, vegan, or low-salt meals. Nurses and staff help with medication, bathing, dressing, and things like transfer moves, incontinence care, and even supporting those who need mild or more steady monitoring. There are on-site health care specialties, including podiatry, dental, and vision, and there's a beautician if residents want personal grooming.

Common areas include indoor and outdoor spaces, gardens, patios, and walking paths. Residents can use cable TV, phone, and Wi-Fi in their rooms, and there's always something going on in the art room, activity space, or community programs. The community's got secured memory care with many safety features, activity programs seven days a week, and a focus on helping memory care residents engage and enjoy life with dignity. For spiritual needs, there are devotional services onsite.

They welcome private pay and certain insurance plans, even offering a dementia waiver program for those who need it. Volunteer and community programs bring people together, and the staff know how to support residents even if they wander, act out, or need gentle reminders. With an average resident rating of 9.2 out of 10 and a straightforward, supportive approach to care, Meadow Mills at Whitney Center makes it possible for seniors to stay comfortable, active, and safe as their needs change.
