    Warm welcoming multilingual staff recommended

I moved my loved one to Bridges and could not be happier - warm, welcoming and multilingual staff who provide resident-centered, memory-focused care, a clean modern facility with private baths, delicious customizable meals from a creative chef, and plentiful engaging activities and outings that made the transition smooth and gave me real peace of mind. A few families mentioned staffing and medication-timing concerns, so ask about that, but overall I highly recommend this team.

About Bridges by EPOCH at Norwalk

Bridges by EPOCH at Norwalk sits in a quiet, scenic part of Norwalk, Connecticut, where natural surroundings help make the place more peaceful for everyone living there. The community is designed specifically for memory care, serving adults aged 55 and older who have Alzheimer's disease, dementia, or other memory impairments. The two-story building has fewer than 20 memory care suites, which keeps things smaller and more personal, and you can choose from private or companion suites, including studios and semi-private options.

There's a lush courtyard and a secure rooftop deck, which are both safe outdoor spaces where residents can enjoy fresh air or simply relax in a quiet spot. Inside, the building has inviting common areas, like a cozy library, a country kitchen, and dining spaces that try to give everyone a sense of comfort and home. The whole place is built with safety in mind, making it easier for people with memory loss to walk around without getting lost or overwhelmed.

Bridges by EPOCH at Norwalk focuses entirely on memory care, assisted living, and offers some independent living options on a broader campus. The staff is well-trained in Alzheimer's and dementia care, and they work together in small household-style settings, so residents get more attention and support. Each person has an individualized care plan that changes as their needs do, and the care team takes time to learn about each resident's likes, dislikes, past experiences, and routines. Healthcare support includes around-the-clock licensed nursing, medication and diabetic management, high acuity care, incontinence and non-ambulatory care, and access to 24/7 telehealth through Tembo Health.

Meals are flexible, with choices for anytime dining and special diets, such as vegetarian, gluten-free, low sodium, and pureed options. A professional chef prepares all the meals. Community reviews mention that people appreciate the staff's kindness and the community's focus on quality of life. Residents can use Wi-Fi, bring close pets, and access handicap accessible spaces throughout the community.

Bridges by EPOCH at Norwalk is accredited with the Purple Flag for Dementia Care™, which shows it follows many best practices for dementia care and invests in ongoing staff education through a partnership with McLean Hospital. Activities and therapies are designed to reduce confusion, promote mental engagement, and prevent wandering, with everyday moments like listening to familiar music, helping with routines, and sharing family recipes woven into daily life. The Navigator Club offers customized programs for residents with mild memory loss, focusing on health and wellness. The pricing is all-inclusive, though an entry fee is required before moving in. This community is licensed by the State and is part of EPOCH Senior Living, which also operates other Waterstone communities in Connecticut, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, and New York.

Bridges by EPOCH at Norwalk doesn't try to be flashy, but it provides a calm, respectful, and supportive environment for people facing the challenges of memory loss, with personalized care and a range of services designed to help them feel comfortable and connected each day.
