    Warm staff, active but dated

I moved in/my family moved mom here and overall I'm pleased - the staff (Diane, Cathy and many caregivers) are genuinely caring and made us feel like family. The community is very clean, one-story, well-kept with nice common areas, frequent activities (bingo, exercise, outings), transportation, on-site therapy/nursing and pet-friendly access. Meals are generally okay and the dining room is pleasant, but food variety/service can be inconsistent and some residents find it repetitive. Rooms are on the small side and the building shows its age in places (dated furnishings, some maintenance delays, carpet issues). Staffing can be strained at times with slow responses, though leadership and several staff are responsive and supportive. I'd recommend it for the warm, attentive staff and active community, but be aware of pricing and occasional service variability.

    About Brookdale Palma Sola

Brookdale Palma Sola offers several different living options, including independent living for active seniors, assisted living for those who need help with daily tasks, memory care for people with dementia, and even skilled nursing and long-term care for those who need regular medical supervision, and the facility also offers home health care, hospice care, and adult day care, which lets families find the right level of support all in one place, and the grounds include shaded patios for sitting outdoors, a peaceful courtyard with paved paths and benches, and comfortable indoor spaces like the spacious dining room with gentle lighting and round tables, a cozy common living room with sofas, a bistro for snacks and coffee, and a game room with lighthearted, beach-themed art, plus there's a special "Wall of Honor" recognizing resident veterans. The community has lots of scheduled activities, from exercise classes and games to crafts, puzzles, and movies, plus offsite outings and devotional events both on and off the property, and there's always something going on to help residents stay busy and feel connected, and staff also arranges on-site religious services. Nurses are on staff and on call, and there are therapists in physical, occupational, and speech therapy, with a podiatrist available for appointments, making health care easy to get without leaving the community, and for those managing chronic diseases like diabetes or high blood pressure, the Brookdale HealthPlus service coordinates care and helps with planning. Residents get meals every day, including vegetarian options, and there's a beauty and barber salon with professional hair care, while the place also allows pets, has resident parking, and features both indoor and outdoor gathering areas. The community supports people who need temporary breaks with respite care, as well as those needing end-of-life comfort through hospice, and those with Alzheimer's or other memory problems can live in secure memory care communities designed for their needs. Assisted living apartments are available with simple furnishings and large windows, and there are separate senior apartments meant for independent residents. The staff helps with things like bathing, dressing, and medicine reminders for those who need it, and the facility does have wheelchair accessible showers plus high-speed internet for residents who want it. Transportation is free for residents heading to appointments or group outings, and the library is well-stocked with books and comfortable seats, and for family members or caregivers, there are resources and supportive services to answer questions or help with planning, since Brookdale Palma Sola is part of a larger network with a lot of experience in senior care. The place has also received a few awards over the years for its quality of care, but, like anywhere, it's good to visit and see if it feels right.
