    Compassionate clean care with peace

I give Deland Manor five stars. From the moment we were greeted by Dennis, the owners and staff treated my mom like family-compassionate, patient, skilled, and always quick to respond. The home is exceptionally clean, warm, and well-run; meals are great and medications are managed carefully. I have real peace of mind knowing she's safe, happy, and improving - I highly recommend Deland Manor.

    About DeLand Manor Assisted Living

DeLand Manor Assisted Living sits at 245 S Amelia Ave in DeLand, a quiet northern suburb of Orlando, and has earned a reputation for its close-knit feel because there are only 32 licensed beds, and you tend to notice that people know each other's names and habits, and you'll see staff who respond quickly and treat folks with warmth, whether they need help with bathing, dressing, moving around, or just want company for a game or conversation. The building is all ground-floor with handicap access everywhere, so you don't find any stairs to fuss over, and all common spaces-indoor lounges, gardens, shaded patios-are open to residents any time, so folks can gather for art classes, BBQs, movies, singing, brain fitness, or sit outside to watch the birds in the front and back yards, sometimes joining in on birthday parties or live music if the mood strikes.

The rooms come fully furnished, ready for move-in, and there are both private apartments and common dining spaces where residents share three meals a day, and from what's often said, people actually enjoy the food and finish their plates, and if anyone needs a special diet-diabetic, allergies, anything-those requests are handled. There's an all-day restaurant-style dining setup, so you won't go hungry waiting for a set meal time, and snacks are available too. The staff keeps to a routine of safety and hygiene, with systems in place like a 24-hour call button and constant supervision if needed, and those with memory care or dementia find specialized support, whether it's reminders, medication management, or more hands-on help.

You'll find the environment stays pretty tidy and calm, with attention paid to both housekeeping and keeping things peaceful, and communal spaces like the library, beauty salon, game rooms, and chapel visits help fill the days, while trips to local museums, theaters, parks, and even places like Hontoon Island State Park give everyone a chance to get out and see something new without much trouble, since transportation's included. The smaller size means you tend to see familiar faces both among residents and staff, which builds a certain comfort, and since staff is there around the clock, families find extra peace in knowing someone's always looking out for loved ones who might need a little extra help.

DeLand Manor Assisted Living has a Florida license (#12944), doesn't usually accept Medicare unless they have a special certification, and keeps its fees lower than most nursing homes, though care is meant for folks needing daily help yet not in need of constant medical treatment. The place balances giving independence to those who want it while still providing steady support for daily living, and services like medication management, diabetes care, help with transfers, and mental wellness programs are all part of daily life. There's Wi-Fi, cable, phones in rooms, and regular activities on-site or in the community-such as devotional services, barber visits, and movie nights-alongside support with laundry and housekeeping.

Families who seek short-term help can use respite care, and the facility also supports memory care and some continuing care needs, so transitions can be easier for residents if circumstances change. Whether it's the small community feel, friendly and present staff, or the easy access to local amenities, people say DeLand Manor lives up to its name as "Your Place…Your Home" and prides itself on helping residents feel settled, safe, and respected as they go about their days.
