    Excellent care but sales pushy

I moved my dad to Allegro and overall it's excellent - state-of-the-art, spotless facility with five-star dining, nutritious meals, lots of activities, spacious rooms, modern security, and amazingly attentive staff who made the transition seamless and gave our family real peace of mind. That said, the sales/tour was rushed and pushy, initial information was lacking (no brochure), and costs felt high with possible hidden fees. The building can feel cold/corporate and some design choices (high cabinets, dim lighting) aren't ideal for limited mobility or poor eyesight, and leadership/communication has been uneven. I recommend Allegro for its care, food, and staff - but demand a full tour, clear fee disclosure, and check accessibility first.

About Allegro – Fort Lauderdale, FL

Allegro - Fort Lauderdale, FL gives seniors different living options, like independent living, assisted living, and memory care, and you'll find that memory care here is called Ensemble Memory Care, which is set up for people with Alzheimer's or dementia, and you'll see skilled nurses on-site, although they call them LPNs, and you've got round-the-clock support, help with daily tasks like dressing and bathing, medication management, and support for mental health, too, while staff handle cooking, cleaning, and laundry, and they also help coordinate moves for new folks. The building has studio, one-bedroom, two-bedroom, and memory care apartments, and each comes with a kitchenette, a private bathroom, air conditioning, cable TV, and some have water views. Meals are prepared by a chef and there are multiple dining options, including riverside dining, a bistro, private dining rooms, The Tides dining area, and even a whiskey lounge, and they offer menus for people with diabetes or food restrictions. For recreation and social life, you'll find spaces like a theater, game room, chess court, pool, putting green, yoga room, gym, fitness center, salon and barbershop, and library, and outside, there's a garden, patios, and a barbeque area, so it's set up for both privacy and getting together, and they keep the place safe with features like a sprinkler system and handicap accessibility all around. There's also community-sponsored activities, scheduled outings, arts and crafts, a gaming center, computers, wellness and mental health programs, and a small library for reading and study. Transportation is arranged for doctor visits, shopping, and trips into town, and families can use different ways to pay, like savings, house sale proceeds, insurance, Veterans benefits, or help with Medicaid or Medicare. Allegro takes care of maintenance, security, and daily chores, and staff help with transfers, walking, and wheelchair assistance. The memory care program, Ensemble Memory Care, includes special activities meant for people with memory loss, and the community supports adults aged 55 or older, as this is a high-end building designed for active adults who want little maintenance to worry about. The facility began welcoming residents in early fall 2023 and is known for its scenic setting by the water, varied floor plans, and amenities that help seniors enjoy everyday living.
