    About Kingshouse Retirement Center

Kingshouse Retirement Center provides assisted living, memory care, hospice, and respite services in a one-story building with a central area and several wings, so residents have space to move around while staff can keep an eye out, and there's 24-hour supervision with awake staff day and night; the capacity is about 30 seniors, including a memory care section in its own building that's purpose-built with secure wandering alert systems and bracelets for those with dementia or Alzheimer's who might try to leave, and there's help with bathing, dressing, grooming, medication, transfers, and incontinence, and nurses plus a doctor on call support care along with therapists. Annette King, a registered nurse, owns and runs the place, and the staff know current care standards and can manage most care needs as they change, so long as it's not with scooters, while the care plans adapt to each resident and allow for special diets, whether for diabetes, high blood pressure, food allergies, or vegan preferences, even supporting help for insulin or two-person transfers but you need to check if that's available when needed. The rooms come furnished with a bed, dresser, and nightstand-twenty are open with a possible twenty more in a separate wing-and there are private and shared rooms, with private ones available for residents bringing their own things; the rooms all have half-baths while showers and tubs sit in the hallway, and the community encourages making each room feel like home, which can mean more comfort for everyone. There's a range of activities like planned programs, music therapy, animal visits, games, movie nights, art, stretching and yoga, brain classes, gardening, intergenerational programs, karaoke, and outings, with devotional services and trips to church, since some like to keep up their faith life, and pets can visit even if they can't live there, and the outdoor spaces, garden, reading room, and game areas see plenty of use in good weather. There are homemade meals served three times a day, with options for different diets like gluten-free or organic, and a mobile hairdresser or stylist comes in because sometimes a haircut just lifts your spirits, and laundry, cleaning, meal prep, and room service come standard. The building has emergency call systems so help's always nearby, everything's wheelchair accessible but scooters aren't supported, and a wandering alert keeps memory care residents safer. Resident parking and transportation for medical appointments, errands, or outings get arranged by staff, with some free trips and others at a cost. The care level ranges from adult day services and short respite stays to longer-term assisted living, mild dementia care, and hospice, and residents can remain as their needs increase, aging in place, with extra charges for diabetic supplies, incontinence care, and cable TV. The minimum age is 60, and the community's licensed by Florida's Department of Social Services under the number 4901, and besides having nurses and caregivers, specialists like podiatrists, dentists, physical therapists, occupational and speech therapists visit as needed, which means most daily health needs and support are handled on site, so residents get more continuity and less stress moving between providers.
