    Resort-style community with management issues

I'm excited to call this beautiful, resort-style community home - the staff (Scott, Debbie, Tyler & Ashley) are warm and attentive, meals and amenities are excellent, and activities keep residents happy. My biggest concern is leadership: some managers are rude and dismissive to residents and visitors and need to be replaced with more caring staff. Overall I highly recommend the facility, but only if management changes.

    About Palomino Gardens Retirement Community

Palomino Gardens Retirement Community sits on 40 acres overlooking a big 90-acre lake right in Lake Worth, Florida, with easy access to Jupiter, West Palm Beach, Boca Raton, and all the shops, parks, and local restaurants you'd expect from Palm Beach County's exclusive equestrian area, and it really does try to give seniors options for independent living, assisted living, or even memory care at the Meri C. Lisbet Health Center on site, so people can find the right amount of help as their needs change. The place has studio, one-bedroom, or two-bedroom apartments plus garden flats and villas, all with things like walk-in closets, modern appliances, washers and dryers, and some spots with ponds or lake views, so seniors don't just get a place to sleep but a space that feels like their home with choices about how they want to live.

Residents have access to a gym, pool, walking paths, fitness and wellness programs-land and water classes, even personal coaching if that's wanted-and the amenities keep people comfortable, like a general store, game and billiards room, salon and barber shop, elevators, internet, library, movie theater, and covered parking, as well as pet-friendly accommodations, and though some pets are okay, there are some restrictions you'd want to ask about. Meals come through the signature Freedom Dining program with three chef-prepared options every day, served cafeteria-style or by table, with flexible hours so nobody's on a strict schedule, and there's a salad bar, fresh fruit, snacks between meals, and choices like fish, salmon, or sandwiches, and they try to focus on nutrition and quality.

Housekeeping comes included, and staff are available day and night to help with small or big needs so residents can keep as much independence as possible while still feeling secure, and the safety features include emergency call systems and transportation help for trips out. There's a lot to do, from card games and fitness classes to arts, crafts, music, lectures, group outings, and holiday celebrations, all run by an activities director, along with a community lounge where people gather for clubs or movies, and yearly festivals and social events give everyone chances to meet neighbors and make friends if that's something they're after.

The apartments and grounds aim to balance comfort with luxury, but it's the people-residents and staff together-who make a friendly atmosphere that supports health and well-being, with attention to individual needs and preferences, and you'll often see folks out walking the grounds or sitting by the water, sometimes with their small dogs or cats. With so many care choices-independent living, assisted living, memory care, and even short-term options-people can move in at one stage and stay as their needs grow, so families don't have to worry about moving when life changes, and that kind of stability really does make a difference.
