    Fantastic therapy but dangerous neglect

I had a mixed, bittersweet experience. The therapy team (PT/OT/speech) was excellent and helped a loved one regain mobility; the building is often clean, bright, and some staff - front office, social work and nurses - were caring and personable. But nursing was inconsistent: understaffed, slow to respond, poor communication with family, delayed vitals/labs, and I observed medication errors and inappropriate triage. I also experienced serious safety and security problems - missing personal items (a gold chain was stolen), misplaced shoes/wheelchair parts, and lax monitoring. Medical care felt neglectful at times: unmonitored fevers/dehydration/UTI/sepsis/pneumonia and lack of comfort care led to deterioration and an emergency hospital transfer. Food and night care were hit-or-miss, and some residents appeared unbathed or neglected. In short: fantastic rehab and some kind staff, but significant staffing, safety, and clinical-care failures - be cautious.
