    Homey facility, needs stable management

I toured this small, homey facility and had mixed feelings. The rooms are spacious with great natural light, private baths, good food, lots of activities, and the direct-care staff I met were genuinely caring and attentive. But new ownership/management has driven heavy staff turnover, poor teamwork, cost-cutting and rate hikes; maintenance and safety issues (uneven floors, an unguarded staircase), confusing navigation, and slow responsiveness worry me. Lovely people and atmosphere, but I wouldn't recommend it until management and staffing stabilize.

About Hollander Senior Living of Sandy Springs

Hollander Senior Living of Sandy Springs sits in a quiet, upscale neighborhood with lots of trees and calm streets, where the days move slow and there's space to breathe, so folks who come here often find a peaceful pace surrounded by flowers, mature trees, and shaded areas for walking or sitting, and the building's kept up nicely with landscaping, outdoor courtyards, and places to enjoy the weather. People who live here get private apartments, many with balconies, and every apartment comes safe and comfortable, with walk-in showers fitted with grab bars and soft rugs, walk-in closets, cable TV, kitchenettes, and good light from the windows, plus the chance for residents to bring their own furniture, photos, and keepsakes to make the space feel cozy and personal.

Residents can have their small pets, like cats or dogs, around for company, and staff help take care of things all day and night, whether it's getting dressed, housekeeping, laundry, making beds, or regular maintenance, so everybody can relax if they want. The meals come with attention to special diets like diabetic or low-sodium needs, and there's always some snacks out plus chef-prepared dishes, brunches, and easy access to tea and coffee; transportation's provided for grocery shopping, doctor visits, or trips out, and there's resident parking too. Community spaces let people join group exercises, classic Silver Sneakers classes, art, stretching, music, bingo, crafts, trivia, and there are movie nights, lectures, reading groups, wine tastings, and outings for shopping, museum visits, or performances; the full-time activity director keeps the schedule full and lively, and wellness programs with easy fitness equipment help residents stay active.

The facility has both assisted living and memory care options, so staff adjust care to each person's needs, whether someone needs light help or more involved support including mobility or transfer help, even with special medical equipment; nurses are there around the clock, a doctor's on call, and the place takes care of folks with diabetes, incontinence, or other complex medical needs, including insulin management and regular checks. The memory care building locks securely and uses technology for safety, such as bracelets that sound alarms if someone leaves, so residents with dementia or Alzheimer's can be protected, and the staff are trained to work kindly and effectively with any behavior issues, wandering, or other challenges.

People at Hollander Senior Living of Sandy Springs can attend devotional or religious services both onsite and offsite, and get visits from licensed podiatrists or dentists if they need, plus physical, occupational, or speech therapy, both in and out of the facility, making things much simpler for folks with those needs. There are extra services like respite care for short stays, hospice care for those facing end-of-life needs, and help arranging homecare. There's no smoking indoors in private or common spaces, and the community welcomes men or women in line with the minimum age policy.

Hollander Senior Living of Sandy Springs is close to Northside Hospital Atlanta, so medical help's nearby, and it's easy to reach local shopping, restaurants like The Cheesecake Factory or Maggiano's, and other entertainment. Each resident has a medical alert system, and the staff review care and wellness plans regularly to keep up as needs change. With a choice of studio and one-bedroom spaces, plenty of activities, outings, help with daily life, and a team devoted to seniors' care and comfort, the community supports independence while making sure everybody's safe and looked after.
