    Caring staff but limited medical

I appreciated the caring, responsive staff - personable and helpful with appointments, hair/nail/cast needs. The home is small, bright, very clean and homey (private room with shared bath, modern kitchen, piano, patios), with good food, dietary accommodations and occasional activities. However it felt more like a rehab than a community: no nursing/medical support and limited amenities, so I wouldn't recommend it for someone needing significant assistance.

    About Camden Place

Camden Place in Statesboro, Georgia, is a mid-sized assisted living community that serves adults 55 and older, and you'll notice right away that the home-like setting is smaller and more personable than the big facilities, but with more space and activity choices than you'd find in a small house, and the building is specially designed for better access if you use a wheelchair or have mobility issues, so moving between the bed and a wheelchair is something staff can help with, and the staff are licensed by the state and there's always someone available 24 hours a day if an emergency happens or you need help during the night. The facility contains less than 20 residents, which means people tend to know each other well and staff get to know each resident's daily needs, helping with things like bathing, dressing, grooming, medication reminders, and moving safely, and there's extra help for non-ambulatory residents, plus regular visits by registered nurses, occupational therapists, and physical therapists, and if you have diabetes, staff help monitor your insulin. Meals are served every day in the dining room, and guests can join for meal times, with the kitchen also offering special diets if needed, including for allergies and diabetes, plus snacks, all-day dining options, and kitchenettes in resident rooms for folks who want to cook for themselves a bit. Camden Place has both private and semi-private apartments, including two-bedroom layouts, studios, and rooms that come furnished, offering modern appliances, full-size kitchens, and updated fixtures. Housekeeping, laundry, and even dry cleaning are taken care of by staff, leaving residents time to enjoy the indoor lounge, outdoor gardens, patios, and walking paths, or participate in community activities like arts and crafts, social events, or outings-a full calendar is kept for movement and socializing, and there are both on-site and off-site activities. Camden Place is pet-friendly, with designated pet areas for residents who like animals, and the landscaped grounds include green spaces for outdoor recreation. Security is a focus, too, with gated access, staff always present, and an emergency call system to make sure help comes quickly if needed. Residents have free transportation for appointments and outings, plus on-site parking with options for covered parking if you drive. There's a fitness center, a swimming pool, a clubhouse, as well as a barber and salon room, and plenty of common areas indoors where people can sit and chat. The staff help set up move-ins and work with health providers to keep your care in line with your particular needs, and there's also support with VA benefits if you need it. Camden Place uses all-inclusive pricing and offers rental and lease options, including some rental assistance programs to make things easier for different budgets. Folks here say the atmosphere is relaxed and non-institutional-it feels more like a big family home, with a focus on personal care, dignity, and keeping each person as independent as possible.
