    Safe, caring staff but understaffed

I felt safe and was never mistreated - the staff are kind, attentive, and the room was clean with nice people - but the facility seems understaffed and care can be restrictive about movement.

    About Haven of Arcola

Haven of Arcola sits in central Illinois as part of a larger Continuing Care Retirement Community, which means folks can move in and change care levels without having to leave their home if needs change, and the facility covers basic needs like help with bathing, dressing, medication, transfers, and general daily routines, so residents get the support they need. Skilled nursing staff provide care day and night, with medical services for memory care, orthopedic therapy, cardiac rehab, post-stroke help, pain support, wound care, hospice and palliative care, IV and infusion therapy, diabetes and CHF management, on-site X-rays, and even podiatry, so the place handles a lot of health care needs in one spot, plus they've got speech, physical, and occupational therapies right there for people who need to regain strength, mobility, or skills. Safety's covered with emergency alert buttons and 24-hour supervision, and the staff responds to calls quickly. Residents can join all sorts of community activities like movie nights, game nights, fitness programs, music time, gardening, scheduled day trips, resident-led events, and a calendar of activities that give everyone lots of chances to connect, move around, and try something new. Rooms come furnished with private bathrooms, cable TV, kitchenettes, phones, Wi-Fi, and air conditioning, so folks can settle in easily, and housekeeping, laundry, dry cleaning, and move-in help make daily life a little less stressful. The dining room serves meals all day from a professional chef, and there are options for special diets and allergies, so everyone can eat well around their own needs. Amenities include comfortable lounges, a library, a movie theater, an activity and arts room, fitness and wellness spaces, a spa, walking paths, and a beauty salon, giving folks enough to do, whether they want to be social or just take it easy. The place accepts Medicare, Medicaid, and other health insurance, which helps cover many services. Transportation for medical visits or local errands gets arranged when needed, and there's a team on staff to help talk through care plans and any concerns. People can come for short-term rehab, long-term care, or just need a break with respite care, and they'll find that the focus here is on giving every resident personal attention, care, and a safe, welcoming place to call home, and families can schedule a tour or learn more through their website at havenarcola.com.
