    Kicked out despite veteran services

I was kicked out by owner/management and even insulted as a veteran. They charge veterans high monthly fees, provide no transportation, and the place was unbearably hot (about 105°F). It's family-run and not-for-profit with veteran-focused services, decent cleanliness and donations to good causes, and a local minister helped me - still, I was advised to stay away.

    About Haven House

Haven House, listed in Marion, Illinois under unique identifier 384117367, is a family-run nonprofit that provides many types of care and services for seniors and veterans, and lets everyone feel right at home, especially with how people say it's so clean and comfortable, always calling the staff awesome and the place wonderful because everything's kept tidy and the environment feels homey. This place does assisted living, memory care, adult day services, and long-term skilled nursing for folks who need help every day, as well as home health care and non-medical home care for those who want care while living elsewhere, and there's special support for hospice care when it's needed, so people can stay comfortable even as their needs change. The care is always personalized, with tailored plans and 24-hour on-site help, so residents get medication reminders, rides to doctor visits, one-on-one help with benefit paperwork, and job-seeking help if that's something that matters, and there's plenty of group meals, outings, and events to help people stay social. Haven House especially focuses on veterans, offering a 10-bed home with a safe, family-type place to live, whether someone's able-bodied, disabled, or homeless, making sure each person gets help following up on benefits, and working to get folks transition support and a real sense of community, even planning for more beds and new shelters-like turning a building into an 80-bed shelter in Southern Illinois and setting up a 20-bed shelter in Murphysboro for short stays with onsite support, plus there's plans for independent living for 10 local veterans who need that next step. The staff is made up of trained healthcare professionals and support workers who make sure each resident has access to therapy rooms, activity areas, and accessible facilities for those with mobility needs, and the building is always tidy with plenty of amenities to keep everyone comfortable and well cared for. The place also holds a deep sense of purpose, with programs and funds for animal welfare, veterans and military help, homelessness, and other humanitarian needs, because Haven House runs as more than a living facility-it's a charity focused on community support and nonprofit services. There's even services connected to Meta Platforms with things like Meta Pay and Meta Store, making sure digital communication stays open for those who want or need it. Everything at Haven House is designed so people with complex needs, mental health challenges, or those who just need a little extra help can have a place that's safe, calm, supportive, and most of all, feels like home.
