    Wonderful community with caring staff

I moved my parent here and we couldn't be happier - beautiful, brand-new and spotless community with apartment living, walking trails, fitness and rec rooms, pet friendly and lots of engaging activities that helped them make friends. The staff (Alicia, Nicole, Lisa, Kat, Dana and many caring caregivers and volunteers) are kind, patient and often go above and beyond with 24-hour support, housekeeping, laundry and responsive administration - I'm grateful and highly recommend. A few downsides: the food could be better and there have been occasional staffing/medication/emergency gaps to watch for.

    About Evergreen Village at Bloomington

Evergreen Village at Bloomington sits in a quiet spot right in Bloomington, close to shopping, restaurants, parks, and healthcare, and what's nice is they've got natural walking trails nearby like the Jackson Creek Walking Trail, and their community even has outdoor walking paths for residents to use whenever they'd like, so folks can get outside or just take in the scenery. Opened in 2018, the building holds 115 studio and one-bedroom apartments on three floors, all designed so residents can make their space feel like home, and everything is set up to be easy to navigate for those using walkers or wheelchairs, with elevators and lots of room to move around. This place is for people aged 62 and older who want to keep living as independently as possible but could use a little help now and then, and the certified staff is always around, day or night, to help out-so there's always someone there if you need a hand with things like bathing, getting dressed, taking medication, or managing diabetes or incontinence, and they've got trained nurses on site 24/7 as well.

Meals are served three times a day, and they try for nutrition and taste with each one, and there's always coffee and snacks available if someone's hungry between meals, plus housekeeping and laundry are taken care of, so daily chores are something you don't need to worry about. Folks can book tours and use an online portal to handle scheduling or pay bills, which can be handy, and the community sends out a regular newsletter called "The Evergreen Journal" to keep everyone up to date with news, activities, and helpful information. Residents meet up for all sorts of activities, like games, educational programs, exercise, and social events so there's always a way to stay active, and everything is set up to encourage making friends and feeling like you belong, with plenty of community events and friendly neighbors who look out for one another.

Evergreen Village tries to create a home-like environment, with outdoor spaces, walking trails, nice interiors, and a focus on keeping life comfortable, safe, and welcoming, and any care plans are tailored to what each person needs, whether that's full memory care for folks with dementia or just a bit of help with daily living, and residents' dignity and independence are always respected. There's a beauty salon on site, devotional services both in the building and at other locations, and transportation options help people get to appointments or outings, while nearby amenities and healthcare make it easier for residents to get what they need. The management company, Gardant Management Solutions, runs things with a mission to treat everyone with love and respect, and the staff is known for being friendly, helpful, and cheerful with both residents and their families.

For those who qualify, financial assistance may be available, helping make this lifestyle affordable for more people, and the community's been recognized with awards like the Silver Quality Award from AHCA/NCAL and Best of Senior Living, mostly for providing consistent care, a high quality of life, and a safe place for seniors in Monroe County and nearby areas. It all comes together to offer a mid-size, active, and supportive senior living community where the goal really is to help people live as independently and happily as possible.
