    Caring staff, but management issues

I love the frontline team - warm, attentive, and truly family-like; activities are enriching, owners and managers are approachable, and many residents seem happy. That said, leadership problems (the Director of Nursing was dishonest and unresponsive about assessments and meds), chronic staffing shortages, and slow call-light response undermined care at times. I also noticed cleanliness and maintenance issues (dirty floors, odors, missing gate pieces, safety risks on stairs) and inconsistent food/laundry quality. In short: exceptional staff who go above and beyond, but management, safety, and upkeep concerns make it not the right fit for my loved one.

    About Bloom at Kessler

Bloom at Kessler sits in Indianapolis, Indiana, with a three-story building that has studio, suite, and one-bedroom housing options to meet different needs, and many of these rooms let residents keep some privacy while still offering security, which helps promote both independence and safety; the place is family-owned, and the staff works to create a supportive atmosphere where active seniors, as well as those needing more care, can find a good balance between having help and enjoying daily freedoms. The facility covers several levels of senior care all on the same site, offering assisted living, independent living, skilled nursing, memory care for people living with Alzheimer's or dementia, and respite care for short stays in private, furnished suites, letting folks adjust as their health needs change over time. Residents and their families can count on 24-hour support, emergency response systems, diabetes care, diet and nutrition checks, and expert caregivers, and they can reach out to the staff any time they want, day or night.

Bloom at Kessler has its own life enrichment programs, fitness clubs with gym equipment, an executive chef preparing three meals each day, and both indoor and outdoor entertainment areas, along with amenities like family rooms, computer centers, internet access, a café, pharmacy, and parking. Pets are welcome, and there are safe, controlled areas for memory care residents who need extra attention and comfort. Residents get personal help with daily activities if they need it, and the team aims to help people age as well as possible through activities, social events, and exercise classes; the calendar always has things for folks to join and enjoy. There's a pharmacy right on the grounds, along with concierge services, document help, and extra comforts like inviting living spaces and pet-friendly spots, all designed to make daily life smoother.

The whole place stays connected with family involvement and a caring staff, focusing on wellness and socialization as much as on medical care and safety, with spaces always open for families, staff, and residents to come and go. All these services are specially set up for older adults who want a vibrant but safe social setting, and the campus brings together different floor plans and levels of care so residents can stay in one familiar community as needs change.
