A Family For Mom serves as a senior living community designed with a strong focus on giving moms, and other residents, support and comfort in a family-like setting, and you'll find it's not a nursing home but rather small shared neighborhood homes where caregivers actually live on-site with the residents, so there aren't a bunch of new faces and that brings a sense of stability and familiarity you won't find everywhere. The average monthly cost for these residential care homes is about $3,625, and in each home, usually only four residents share the space, which allows the staff to give one-on-one help with things like bathing, dressing, medication reminders, and even cooking and cleaning, plus there's access to special care for people with Alzheimer's or dementia within secure environments, and a line-up of memory-enhancing activities and programs that are tailored for cognitive needs. The community extends care to cover people who may need respite care, companion services, adult home care, adult home health, or even adult foster care, and you'll see they offer day care, "pop in" assistance, and 24-hour in-home help, so families can pick what fits best, and there's an emphasis on managing care through simple systems like care team management, scheduling, and electronic visit verification, all of which seem a little technical but really help keep everything on track. Amenities in these homes include meals-with both kosher and vegetarian options-wheelchair accessible showers, indoor and outdoor common areas, and pet-friendly policies, plus you get transportation options for a fee and onsite parking for residents and visitors. The homes are located in places like North Grove and Carmel, Indiana, and they're especially suited for seniors who want a secure, calm environment for assisted living, need help with daily living tasks, or just want a little company and social activities, including devotional gatherings and group events, and you can find a mix of health services too-things like diabetic care, incontinence care, wound care, high acuity support, and even skilled nursing on a round-the-clock basis when it's needed. A Family For Mom keeps consistent staffing so you won't get new staff every day, and the goal is always simply to create a real home atmosphere with support that's there when you need it, whether that's short-term respite or full-time residential care, and they make sure you can see photos of room amenities if that's something you're considering.

Compassionate family-run home, highly recommended
I placed my mom in this family-run, home-like facility and couldn't be happier. The compassionate, attentive staff provide 24/7 personalized care that preserves dignity, keeps the home clean and safe, and keeps residents engaged. Meals are home-cooked and delicious, rooms (with private baths) are well-kept, and staff keep us updated with photos, calls and welcome visits anytime - her spirits and quality of life have improved. I highly recommend it.
