    About Alma Manor Nursing Center

Alma Manor Nursing Center sits at 234 Manor Cir in Alma, KS, offering care for seniors in a nursing home setting with a long history of serving older adults and being managed by Midwest Health Service Inc., though the community has now closed, but when it was open, it provided different levels of living including independent living, assisted living, skilled nursing, memory care, and Home Plus Assisted Living, all located within a larger Continuing Care Retirement Community (CCRC) which meant residents could move between care types as their needs changed over time. The center offered both short-term and long-term care, specialized for folks needing help with physical or mental health challenges, and provided round-the-clock supervision, medication management, and a full set of personal care services like bathing, dressing, or help with moving from beds and chairs, with licensed professionals always there, and some skilled nursing care for those needing medical attention day and night. Rooms included private options-some attached to private bathrooms, some with shared setups-as well as suites large enough for couples or those wanting more space, with studio and one-bedroom arrangements available, and there were three large shower rooms in each Home Plus wing, which together housed up to 24 seniors.

The community tried to give seniors a good life, with amenities like housekeeping, laundry or dry cleaning, and emergency alert systems, plus phones in the rooms; meal services worked for special diets with restaurant-style, all-day dining, and allergy-sensitive choices; and the grounds included pleasant features like walking paths, gardens, and an arts room, along with a barber and salon, movie nights, and opportunities for residents to run some of their own activities, so there were ways to stay occupied and socialize, including a monthly Senior Social and a program of activities and outings. A part-time pastor provided daily devotionals and private pastoral visits for those who wanted spiritual support, with care rooted in biblical teachings focusing on loving, dignified interactions centered around Christ.

Alma Manor Nursing Center also combined senior care with an on-site childcare center, so there were often shared activities between kids and elders that gave both groups moments of joy, chances to celebrate together, and helped build understanding and friendship across generations, all in one place, and these intergenerational programs were known to improve quality of life and bring out laughter and kindness. Staff were expert and licensed, dedicated to giving residents the right amount of help, whether that was with daily needs, health care, or simply making life a bit easier and fuller, and community-sponsored activities offered more to do, indoors and out. The place kept a review score of 4.5 out of 2 reviews, which suggests those who stayed or visited often thought well of the care, and the facility mainly supported adults who needed more help than they could get at home.
