Medicalodges Eudora sits in Eudora, Kansas, and has run since March 1, 1975, with people knowing it for steady care over many years, and folks can tell the place has some staying power by the way it's had 50 years under its belt, which feels like it matters these days. The facility, owned by Medicalodges, Inc., has 74 beds, with 65 of those set up for nursing care, which means there's enough room for people who need different levels of help, and it has both private rooms and semi-private rooms so residents can find what suits them best. People living here can get long-term care or come for shorter stays with respite care if families need a little break, and the folks working here try to make it feel compassionate and caring, aiming to help everyone reach the best they can in body, mind, and social life. The staff provides help with daily activities and offers tailored plans to fit what each person might need, and they support those with memory issues from Alzheimer's or dementia with special programs aimed just for them. Medicalodges Eudora also has skilled nursing care for medical needs, plus rehabilitation such as physical, speech, and occupational therapy, which they do right on site, and they've focused over the years on rehabilitation, memory care, and palliative services to help those facing serious illness or tough life changes. Palliative and hospice care are there for people with hard challenges, giving support so folks feel as comfortable as possible. The home covers a wide range-from residential living options and assisted living to care for developmentally disabled people and even offers in-home care if that works better for some. The facility provides social and recreational activities to boost well-being and offers specialized care for those with different health conditions. Medicalodges Eudora is fully employee owned, which can make the staff feel invested, and Donna Fox serves as the Administrator who runs things day to day. Medicare, Medicaid, private insurance, long-term care insurance, managed care, and private pay are all accepted, so most people can find a way to cover costs. The place has an A+ BBB rating even though it isn't BBB accredited, and it's licensed for all kinds of care, including skilled care, rehab, adult daycare, and therapy services. The environment stays focused on making life better for residents, and the staff stay dedicated to quality care, but it's always good to ask for the latest details if you're thinking about the place, as sometimes not all information shows up thanks to computer errors or missing data.

Chronically understaffed and neglectful care
I visited and placed my loved one here and, while some staff and the therapy dept. were genuinely caring, the place is chronically short-staffed with high turnover and inconsistent, often neglectful care. I saw long call-light waits (~20 min), poor cleanliness/urine odor, missed showers/toileting, lost/broken belongings, slow medical response and rude/unprofessional behavior from some nurses. Administration communication was terrible - they ignored complaints, privacy breaches and staff posting inflammatory details on Facebook - and restrictive COVID rules meant limited visits near the end. Facility is outdated and expensive; a few compassionate employees don't make up for the neglect. I cannot recommend this place.
