    Loving staff; management needs improvement

I live here and the staff are loving, caring, and treat us like family - the facility is clean, spacious, welcoming, with amazing food, plenty of activities, and real freedom of choice. Emergency assistance is reliable, COVID testing on entry and masks are provided, and family involvement is encouraged; it feels like a great place to live (and a good place to work). My biggest issue is the administration: management is terrible, reports have been filed, but I've seen no visible change.

    About Lone Tree Retirement Center

Lone Tree Retirement Center, set in Meade, Kansas, sits right by Copley Square and gives seniors a place to live with different levels of care depending on what they need, and you'd notice that they have options for assisted living, memory care, skilled nursing, and even Alzheimer's care services, and folks get help from doctors, dentists, and even specialists like optometrists and audiologists who come right to the center, so there's no need to travel for basic health visits, and if someone needs wound care, medication help, nutrition management, or therapies like physical, occupational, speech, cardiac, or pulmonary, there's staff who handle all that, plus nurses and therapists who keep a close eye on everyone with a high staff-to-resident ratio. Residents can get counseling when they need it, and there's radiology right there on site, which is rare in a lot of places, and scheduled group outings or shopping trips help keep folks active, and transportation is set up for anyone who needs it, including those who rely on wheelchair vans or something special. Meals happen family-style in a dining room that feels homey, and there are full menu choices with nutritious options, plus staff work on dining, bathing, and sleep schedules to fit each resident's needs. You'll find a library for reading, a beauty shop for hair appointments, and a whirlpool for a bit of comfort, and they keep a full calendar of activities-everything from group exercise and spiritual sessions to craft days, movies, during the summer you might find a barbecue, music, or a picnic outside when the weather's nice. There's an Event Center where they host bigger gatherings, and they try to make things easy for people whether someone likes quiet time or wants to socialize, and it's the kind of place where the staff are known for being kind and helpful, which probably matters most, and the staff see caring for others as a privilege, and they've picked up some awards like Best Meals and Dining, Best Activities, and Most Friendly in Senior Living, though of course no place is perfect. The community says they want residents to feel comfortable, respected, and as independent as possible, and for families and new folks, there are brochures and local advisors and even expert advice before moving in. Overall, Lone Tree Retirement Center stands out for its support with health and daily living, its mix of activities, group events, and the steady care from people who seem to really care about making life good for older adults.
