    Warm staff, outstanding meals, promising

I toured and moved my mom into this beautiful, bright, spotlessly kept community and we've been consistently impressed - the staff (Woody, Arwen, Kylie and chef Kristen) are warm, hardworking and go above and beyond, and the meals are outstanding. The place feels like home with great activities, a pool, gym, library and a welcoming, people-focused community. Management runs things smoothly and handled holidays and storms exceptionally well, even during ongoing construction. Caveats: it's new, sometimes short-staffed, has a few healthcare/building kinks, smaller studios, and is pricey (no Medicaid). Try the food and tour thoroughly, but I'm optimistic this will be top-notch once fully staffed.

    About The Crestone Senior Living

The Crestone Senior Living sits in Olathe, Kansas, near Interstate 435 and Interstate 35, and it's the kind of place where you see different senior living options all in one spot, so folks can move between independent living, assisted living, memory care, and even skilled nursing as their needs change, and the whole place, which was completed in 2024 by O'Reilly Development Company and designed by SWD Architects, balances privacy with social spaces, offering a real homey feel with a classic lodge-style building for independent living that lets people pick from studio, one-bedroom, or two-bedroom apartments, each with a full kitchen and their own washer and dryer, while those in assisted living can choose among 27 studio units, 13 one-bedrooms, and 4 two-bedrooms, all with private baths. The community has a total of about 156 units-so that's 93 set aside for independent folks who want things maintenance-free, 45 for people who could use a hand with daily tasks but still want some independence, and 18 in a separate memory care building that's got extra safety features and things like nurse stations, life stations, and common rooms designed around folks with Alzheimer's or dementia, along with walk-in showers and cabinets that lock for safety.

You find staff there around the clock, including nursing, maintenance, and help with housekeeping and transportation, so it feels safe and well-supported, and those needing more help get things like bathing, dressing, and medication management. There's even licensed residential skilled nursing and support for Alzheimer's and dementia, with meals, medication help, and secure areas to keep everyone comfortable and calm. The community notes personalized attention, along with care planning resources, and even information about things like home care, hospice, and respite, just in case plans change. For pets, the place welcomes them, which is great if someone's got a four-legged friend.

On the property, there's plenty to do, whether you want to walk landscaped trails or relax in an enclosed courtyard, and you'll find seating areas scattered about, so it's easy to get fresh air or a bit of sun. They've got a commercial kitchen, two restaurants called The Winfrey Restaurant and The Orchard, and you can eat in the main dining area or outside. For hobbies and wellness, there's a movie theater, a heated pool, a library, a demonstration kitchen, a salon for haircuts, a dog park, fitness rooms, and exercise classes. Folks can join scheduled events, entertainment, and resident-led activities, and Wi-Fi's in the common areas. The community likes to make life easy with concierge service, a 24-hour bistro, and carport parking. Staff here got noticed for having good meals-earning recognition for "Best Meals and Dining"-and also for organizing a lot of engaging activities.

In the memory care unit, rooms have walk-in showers and adapted layouts for safety, and staff use special nurse stations and memory-triggering life stations like mock nurseries, wardrobes, and work areas, which help some people feel grounded in daily life. For families, there's an open-door feeling, regular updates, and places to sit and visit, plus the option for folks to be as social or private as they wish. Residents can bring pets, have visitors, and even arrange transportation or extra personal care when they want.

The Crestone Senior Living, managed by Arrow Senior Living Management, keeps a solid score from residents and families, with a review average of 9.0 out of 7 reviews, and many mention kind staff and good food. The whole place is built so people can make their own choices about daily activities, get help when they need it, and stay as connected or independent as they want. It's a steady sort of place for seniors to live with comfort, safety, and options to fit different needs.
