Greenwood Nursing and Rehabilitation Center sits in a quiet part of Bowling Green, Kentucky, with 128 certified beds and an average of about 118 residents a day, and people say you'll find both adults and older folks living here together, so it's not only for seniors, but for those needing extra help after an illness or someone dealing with long-term health struggles or dementia, and there's a strong focus on rehabilitation, skilled nursing, and even therapies like IV, wound care, and stroke recovery, all provided by a friendly staff working around the clock, though it's true that the nurse turnover rate runs higher than the state average, with nurse staffing hours slightly lower as well. The staff are known for being kind and do their best to make the place feel like a community, and they shape care plans for each person, looking at not just their physical but also their emotional and spiritual needs, with regular recreation and activities alongside things like a unique turtle courtyard where residents can watch the animals, a blue menu that has gotten good attention, and comfortable rooms to help everyone feel settled, with families encouraged to stay involved and work closely with the team. Management comes through Principle Long Term Care, Inc., and there are other ownership interests noted by the Hill family and Principle IT Services, Inc., all involved since 2011, and they aim to keep up strong infection controls with selected university experts, air cleaning systems like HEPA scrubbers and cold plasma, and plenty of extra cleaning throughout the building, though three recent infection-related deficiencies have been recorded along with a history of 13 cited inspection issues in areas such as care planning and accident prevention, which means folks looking here might want to review the inspection details, since the last standard survey happened over two years ago, even though the building has the latest access control for safety and regular health monitoring for residents. The center offers services whether someone needs short-term rehab to get better after a hospital stay or ongoing long-term care and help with chronic conditions, and the care team works together from different backgrounds to help reduce re-hospitalizations and help people recover quicker, always aiming for comfort and dignity, with plenty of spiritual, social, and emotional support worked right into each day, and if someone's interested in Greenwood, tours can be arranged to see the place and ask questions before making a decision.

Compassionate staff, dated facility issues
I'm grateful for the compassionate, attentive staff - nurses, CNAs and the therapy team went above and beyond and gave my loved one individualized, family-like care. The facility itself is dated with small/shared rooms, maintenance issues, occasional bad smells and non-accessible bathrooms, and understaffing often led to slow responses, cold/late meals and dignity/transfer concerns. Overall, wonderful people do excellent work here, but the building and staffing need real improvement.
