    Friendly staff, declining leadership, safety

I moved to Ashton Grove for the beautiful, upscale grounds, well-appointed cottages and friendly, caring staff - meals, activities, therapy and social events kept me engaged and I made good friends. Over time I've noticed troubling declines: management turnover, rising prices, inconsistent food quality, staffing shortages, slow maintenance, safety issues (falls/missed meds) and reports from families of dishonesty and poor memory-care standards. Many staff remain extraordinary and the community can feel like home, but weigh the strong positives against the uneven leadership and care.

    About Ashton Grove

Ashton Grove is a senior living community that sits near Old Friends Farm, so you'll often find the peaceful views and a quiet setting that's a little different from most places. The community offers several types of care, including independent living cottages, assisted living, memory care for those with Alzheimer's or dementia, and even short-term memory care stays. The apartments and cottages are well-kept and modern, with wide spaces, updated finishes, and options for people who like privacy or want maintenance-free living. Residents here have access to on-call maintenance, so if something breaks or needs fixing there's someone ready to help, and with the full-service beauty salon, daily happy hours, outdoor patios, and fitness classes, folks always have something to do or someone to talk to.

You'll notice there's a clubhouse, a bistro, a pub, a theater, and social club rooms where many community events take place, plus a calendar full of recreational, social, and educational activities to suit different interests and needs. Ashton Grove provides chef-prepared meals in a dining space that feels more like a restaurant than a cafeteria, and people can also enjoy snacks or coffee at the bistro anytime during the day. For those who may need extra support, assisted living offers help with daily tasks such as bathing, dressing, or taking medicine, but everything's designed so people can still keep as much independence as possible and stay active in the community.

There's memory care that focuses on safety, tailored care, and programs made for people at every stage of dementia, so families can feel a bit more at ease, and for those who prefer to remain at home, Ashton Grove even connects seniors with non-medical home care services for companion-type support. Community features like outdoor terraces, planned trips, support groups, social programs, and even public events mean people can stay connected and involved, no matter their level of care or activity. Ashton Grove has a strong reputation for its high standard of care, variety of amenities, and friendly environment, and its location in Georgetown, Kentucky provides a quiet spot with comforting rural surroundings, all while being managed by Continental Senior Communities.
