    Filthy facility, rude staff, abuse

I live here and while the place looks fairly nice, it's filthy and the staff are rude. I've witnessed mistreatment of disabled residents, was told offenders live here, and staff failed to report resident harm - it's near Baptist Health Hospital and pets aren't allowed; I do not recommend it.

    About Oaks

Oaks sits at 140 Givens St in Madisonville, KY, and offers many types of senior care all in one place, so you've got assisted living, independent living, skilled nursing, memory care, nursing home services, retirement home options, hospice care, respite stays, home care, adult daycare, and even care homes for those needing a live-in caregiver, and they also have senior apartments for older adults who're still pretty independent but want easier living without all the housework. The Oaks P C H is what they call their senior care center, and you'll find 58 home care units, with a community-oriented approach and a focus on keeping residents connected and comfortable, and they're known for a caring staff that helps with daily activities like bathing, dressing, medication management, and they've got people around 24-7 if someone needs help, supporting independence but ready to step in when needed. The place provides private rooms or shared spaces, sometimes including kitchenettes, so residents can find the right setup, and there's on-site maintenance as well as housekeeping, which means no more chores for most folks who move in. Oaks also cares for people with Alzheimer's or dementia with special memory care programs to help prevent wandering and lower confusion, while folks needing more health support get help from skilled nursing staff. Meals get cooked by chefs and meal planners focused on nutrition and taste, and the dining experience matters as much as the food, and there are activities both on site and out in the community, plus common gathering spots, and even something for veterans through Aid and Attendance VA benefits that can help cover the costs for seniors and their spouses who've served. There are social, cultural, and learning events to keep minds sharp and friendships going, and for folks who want to stay at home, trained aides can help out with tasks and companionship. The design and layout are about safety and comfort, aiming to create a friendly, nurturing place, with licensed services verified by Care.com, though you'd need to check the license details yourself for full peace of mind. Oaks has won a few awards for its activities, staff friendliness, and service quality, so people tend to notice the care put into daily life there, which all adds up to a place meant to make senior living less stressful-whether someone needs a lot of help or just a little.
