    Friendly staff, clean, minor drawbacks

I live here and overall I'm pleased: the staff are friendly, the facility is very clean, the food is good, activities are engaging and the care is great. Downsides are the old building and my room has no private bathroom; memory care, rehab and assisted living are on separate floors.

    About Sansbury Care Center

Sansbury Care Center, operated by Sansbury Care Center Inc. and led by principal officer Megan Finnie, sits next to the historic St. Catharine motherhouse of the Dominican Sisters of Peace and serves about 48 residents, mostly religious and lay women, focusing on seniors who need support and care in daily life, and the place really keeps to its mission, which is rooted in the values and traditions of the congregation and the Dominican Sisters of Peace, aiming to provide personalized and compassionate care in a warm and welcoming setting. The building is designed for comfort with features like wheelchair-accessible areas, a beautiful chapel for daily Mass and other church services, quiet places for prayer, and easy access to daily needs, while residents have rooms on the second and third floors for skilled nursing and dementia care. Medical and personal care are certified by Medicare and Medicaid, overseen by a Medical Director, so residents have skilled nursing, memory care, and around-the-clock emergency help. Staff help residents with daily living activities, medication management, and personal needs, and a licensed beautician comes in to help with haircuts, styling, and perms at the in-house beauty salon. Dining services feature three balanced meals and snacks every day, managed by a registered dietician, and food is served in dining rooms with nice views, offering choices for those who like to eat with others or who need help. The community has physical, occupational, and speech therapy, all as part of their rehabilitation services, and even an exercise pool is available at the Motherhouse for residents who need it. Hosparus of Green River provides hospice care for anyone who needs end-of-life support, and respite care is available for short-term stays. Social life gets attention here too, with activities like trips to shops, restaurants, and parks, along with crafts, games, parties, and events set up for dementia care, plus Protestant services and regular Catholic Mass for those who want. The place stays focused on comfort, support, and community with a goal of helping residents feel safe and well cared for every day. They have over $4.8 million in revenue, spend almost $5.6 million on expenses every year, and hold just over $1.1 million in assets, which suggests they put resources into serving the people who live there. The care center keeps its focus on women and girls, especially retired sisters, while also offering a good spot for staff who want to build their skills working in senior care, always upholding the mission and spirit of the Dominican Sisters of Peace. You can find more details on their website at www.sansburycare.org. Server errors and online issues have happened, but the heart of the place keeps going strong in the daily care it gives.
