    About Courage Lives

Courage Lives has a small, close-knit community that can care for up to five residents at a time, and the place seems always to have staff nearby to help with daily needs like bathing, dressing, transferring from bed to chair, and managing medications, plus there's round-the-clock supervision and care which means people don't have to worry about being alone if they need help in the night or early morning. This group offers several levels of care, from independent and assisted living all the way to memory support for those with dementia or Alzheimer's, and even skilled nursing care for people who need medical help or wound care and rehabilitation, and residents choose between private or shared rooms that are fully furnished, with homey touches, telephone, and Wi-Fi. The spaces have a shared dining area, cable TV, garden, walking paths, and both independent and shared activities like movie nights or social events so people don't feel isolated, and some people like being able to take part in community-sponsored activities or have transport for outings and medical appointments. The kitchen staff prepares three meals a day with options for special diets, and there are laundry, housekeeping, and even dry cleaning for those who need them, and families know that medical specialists and hospitals are nearby if more care's needed, and coordination with outside providers happens too.

Courage Lives also stands out by offering extra help to survivors of human trafficking, exploitation, and abuse, and they've got programs like the Empowerment Pantry for food, the Courage Clothing Closet for clothes, case management, outpatient therapy, and support for people working toward jobs, school, or finding long-term homes, plus referrals to social services so folks have guidance for problems outside their health or housing needs. They run events in the wider community like the "CourageLIVES Mini Golf Benefit" at Pirate's Cove Adventure Golf with prize drawings, and it's all part of the group's belief in taking care of the whole person. Courage Lives is a branch of Saint Andre Home and works to create a warm, safe place where everyone gets the help they need, whether they're short-term guests using respite care or folks looking for a long-term home.
