    Outstanding attentive care, beautiful facility

I am thoroughly impressed - the staff here are amazing, attentive, and went above and beyond to make my mom feel at home while supporting her independence. The bright, pretty, well-kept building (ocean views, lovely memory-care unit), clean common areas, plentiful activities and professional, knowledgeable team deliver phenomenal care. After a horrifying, depressing short stay at a nearby temporary facility (poor cleanliness, strong urine odor, felt like family dumping), this place was night and day - I highly recommend it.

    About Chase Point Assisted Living

Chase Point Assisted Living sits in Damariscotta, Maine, not far from LincolnHealth Miles Campus and the banks of the Damariscotta River, and what they do is give seniors a place to stay safe, comfortable, and well cared for when they can't or shouldn't be at home alone anymore but don't need a nursing home full-time, and they seem to have set up their community so you'll find both private and semi-private rooms, with studios and one-bedrooms about 350 to 500 square feet, all meant to feel homey and easy to move around in with a little help if you need it, and they let you move in with a pet, which is good if you've always liked a cat or small dog around. There's a big focus on activities, so you'll probably have choices like movie nights, evening events, regular workout classes, music and even pet therapy sometimes, plus a schedule packed with daily programs and offsite trips for errands or church, and it helps folks keep some routine and meet others so you're not feeling shut in.

Seniors get three home-cooked meals every day-planned out with medical needs in mind, especially for conditions like high blood pressure or diabetes, and the kitchen aims at both taste and nutrition, which makes things easier if eating right has gotten more complicated as years go by. Staff help with showers, dressing, bathroom needs, and grooming, with extra support available for those who need memory care in the Riverside section, which is set up to reduce wandering and confusion, especially for Alzheimer's or dementia. There are also long-term care and short-term rehab options at Cove's Edge if someone really needs a higher level of health care or is coming back from the hospital, and if haircuts or trims are needed, a mobile barber or hairdresser is available on site. There's a nurse on staff all day and all night, plus a call system in each room if you need quick help, and systems for fire and other emergencies, and a backup generator in case the power cuts out, which is a comfort in Maine during storms.

You'll see the indoor common spaces like a bright sunroom, club room, and exercise area, or the garden and shaded walking trails outside, which are good for both quiet moments and low-key social time with neighbors, and the recreation rooms and book room if you want to read or play cards. The community schedules therapy-physical and rehab-type services-for folks who need it, and the team includes people trained to handle dementia, incontinence, diabetes, and non-ambulatory care as part of the regular support for activities of daily living. They work with each resident and family to set up a care plan that fits, which means help comes without taking away a person's independence, and they try to be clear on costs and what's covered, whether a person needs something upscale or is watching a budget.

Residents at Chase Point Assisted Living can join social, educational, and spiritual events both on and off the grounds, and can count on transportation to doctors, shopping, or religious services, all handled by staff who know how to support older adults. The staff members are trained and seem focused on kindness and respect, watching for ways to help with dignity and privacy, so folks feel as much at home as possible, even as their needs change and more care is required. The community tries to create a friendly, connected feeling, with safety and comfort at the center, and backs it up with a mix of personal attention, medical connection to MaineHealth Lincoln Hospital, and a setting that's easy to settle into even when life throws a curve or two.
