Woodlands Memory Care of Madison is a 20,000 square-foot memory care community that has been thoughtfully designed to provide specialized support for individuals living with Alzheimer’s disease, dementia, or other memory impairments. Nestled on over seven acres near the town line of Madison and Skowhegan, the community offers a serene setting with a focus on comfort, engagement, and safety. The campus features abundant natural light throughout its spaces and home-scaled areas that foster resident interaction, security, and a sense of familiarity needed for those with memory loss.
This community is the first purpose-built, ground-up memory care facility in the Madison/Skowhegan area, opening its doors in August 2020. Designed to accommodate up to 42 residents, Woodlands Memory Care of Madison provides a blend of privacy and companionship through its offerings of 10 private rooms and 16 double-occupancy rooms. Recognizing the unique needs of those with memory challenges, the option for shared rooms is available for individuals who may benefit from the comfort and reassurance of having a roommate, offering flexibility and peace of mind to residents and their families.
Amenities are tailored to enhance the daily lives of residents with thoughtful touches such as an onsite beauty salon, a dedicated physical and occupational therapy center, and a spacious outdoor courtyard. The outdoor area invites residents to enjoy walking paths, gardens, and gazebos, encouraging gentle activity and relaxation within a secure environment. Safety systems and modern conveniences are seamlessly integrated into every aspect of the community’s design to provide both independence and support.
Woodlands Memory Care of Madison operates on a month-to-month rental agreement, allowing for greater flexibility for residents and their families. Residents pay a monthly rental fee based on a daily rate determined by room choice, whether single or double occupancy. The community supports accessibility through a provider agreement with Maine’s Department of Health and Human Services, which enables it to accept a limited number of residents whose stay is subsidized by MaineCare. Additionally, some long-term care insurance policies may reimburse policyholders for residential care expenses, depending on their individual plan coverage.
