The House is beautifully situated near picturesque harbor views and rolling meadows, all within close proximity to the town center. This allows residents to remain engaged with the broader community, participating in both activities held at Southern Harbor House and events taking place in town.

Volunteers participate in a wide variety of activities, from mainland errands coordinated by community members such as Corey Beverage, to cooking and garden maintenance contributed by individuals like Alicia Hopkins and Barbara Lane. The grounds are lovingly cared for, with contributions from those like Grounds work Kate Taylor and garden volunteers including Eileen O'Connor, keeping the surroundings inviting and vibrant.
