    Filthy food, shared bathrooms, overpriced

I stayed here and it was a nightmare: sloppy, often filthy food and sanitary problems, with one bathroom shared by about 10 people. It's expensive - I even sent a letter and reported the issues to the state licensing office. The staff were caring and respectful and the charming historic building, wrap-around porch and manicured grounds show family-run pride, but overall I would not recommend it.

    About Windham Residential Care

Windham Residential Care includes several assisted living homes and senior communities around Windham, Maine, like Bishop House, Timberhill House, Casa V, Casa VII, Forbes Lane, Billabong, and Windham Pines, and you'll find these at addresses such as 495 River Road, 20 Bishop Drive, 17 Timberhill Road, 109 Forbes Lane, 15 Quail Drive, 11 Bishop Drive, 4 Quail Drive, and 15 Billabong Way, and when folks talk about the River Road location, they mention it sits in a two-hundred-year-old building that has a comforting family-owned style, a warm wrap-around porch with flower baskets, and a calm, personal feel that helps people settle in. You'll see that Windham Residential Care operates under several state licenses like RCC1592, RCC1792, RCC1587, RCC180, RCC182, RCC2172, RCC2190, and PND1180, and the caregivers, including those supervised by Carol Rogers, are trained to help with daily living tasks such as bathing, dressing, and medication management, and they tailor care plans for each resident's needs, aiming to support people who need some help to live safely and comfortably but don't need round-the-clock skilled nursing. Each location offers assisted living, memory care for those who struggle with memory loss, home care options, respite care for short-term stays, and some are pet-friendly, and you'll hear about a small-to-medium community size, with rooms that give comfort and privacy, sometimes in a cozy 10-bed home, and there's always a focus on offering simple studio layouts. Residents have access to nursing care, health monitoring, and a social calendar filled with activities to keep folks physically, mentally, and socially engaged, and staff are available for medical help when needed. People can relax outdoors, enjoy the nature around, or visit nearby restaurants and shops, and even though there's no long list of fancy services, many just appreciate the caring team, the family-run atmosphere, and the historic touches that make these homes feel welcoming.
