    About Sterling Hospitaltiy

Sterling Hospitality is an assisted living residence situated in the heart of the Baltimore Jewish community. Born out of over two decades of experience in operating care homes, the residence was custom-built to provide an intimate, home-like environment rather than a large, impersonal institution. The guiding philosophy behind Sterling Hospitality is the belief that residents should feel as though they are among family, with care delivered through deep, personal connections between staff and those who live there. The locally owned facility is run by medical professionals who are on-site daily, ensuring that every resident receives attentive, hands-on care.

With an occupancy of just sixteen residents, Sterling Hospitality is able to provide individualized attention and meticulously tailored support. The small population allows the staff to become well-acquainted with each resident's unique personal history, values, and medical needs, creating a warm, cohesive community. Residents come from a variety of backgrounds, some having lived independently, with family, or in other congregate settings, and all bring their own stories to the vibrant Sterling family. The environment is distinctly Jewish and kosher, supporting residents' spiritual and cultural practices with traditions such as Shabbos and holiday meals, candle lighting, Torah study, and other observances. The residence features separate kitchens for meat and dairy, with all food strictly kosher, and provides private rooms and companion suites for accessibility and comfort.

Sterling Hospitality was designed on a single level to maximize mobility and ease of access for all residents. The facility boasts a three-sided patio and porch offering fresh air and outdoor enjoyment, as well as a beautiful sensory garden. A wide array of amenities is provided, including daily housekeeping, private laundry services, rooms equipped with emergency call systems for 24/7 assistance, and in-room cable TV and WiFi. Residents benefit from a personal care room for hairdresser and podiatry visits, as well as the ability to bask in the sunlight indoors year-round. Meals are prepared daily from family-style recipes, bringing both nutrition and a sense of tradition to the table.

A robust activities program is overseen by Elana Bondy, CTRS, who coordinates volunteer programs, performances, and daily engaging activities tailored to residents’ cognitive and emotional needs. Malka Zweig leads group sessions and crafts individualized, one-on-one activities for residents, ensuring stimulation and enrichment for everyone. The presence of music, gardening, and even pet therapy fosters a lively, therapeutic environment.

Resident well-being is further supported by comprehensive nursing care. Bahareh Imanoel, RN, and Jessica Franco, RN, provide sensitive and skilled nursing services, addressing a spectrum of needs from routine care to complex health issues. The round-the-clock staff—comprised of Certified Nursing Assistants and Medication Administration Technicians—are trained in First Aid, CPR, and Dementia Care, ensuring safety and professionalism at all times. Ariel Mahpari serves as Assistant Manager, orchestrating the daily functioning of the facility, interacting with residents, supervising staff, and sometimes entertaining with piano music and good humor. The management and team focus on the emotional as well as physical well-being of every resident.

Sterling Hospitality is committed to keeping care affordable and transparent, offering competitive monthly fees without hidden costs. This includes room, meals, personal care, medication administration, housekeeping, and assistance with activities of daily living. The community also supports access to rehabilitation services, with physical, occupational, and speech therapists available as needed based on physician recommendations. Whether residents arrive from a hospital with therapy needs or transition from another home environment, Sterling Hospitality is equipped to provide thoughtful, thorough support for a smooth adjustment and ongoing well-being.
